Oh My God!

Ohmigod! THE Patty Bennett posted a comment on my blog! I am so honored and excited. Even more exciting news: I just signed up for one of her classes in June. My friend Tia and I are taking a trip to the Bay Area just for her class. I cannot wait. If you haven't checked out Patty's Blog, you really should. She has wonderful design ideas and great projects. I really admire her work. Here is a link to her fabulous blog:

Thanks, Patty, for the really nice comment on my Oakland Regional Swap Card. You made my week!

As I promised, here are the projects from the birthday party I demo'd at on Friday Night. The girls really seemed to like the projects. They made a bookmark as well, using their own ideas. They basically used their own layouts on these projects as well. Thirteen year olds are very creative and this group was no exception. All of their projects turned out very cute and they had a great time, as did I. This projects was made with the Time Well Spent Level 3 Hostess Set and the Flowers for you paper. I must jet now, time for a haircut, shopping and more projects to put together. Have a super Sunday!

Only 41 more days........

I absolutely cannot wait! 41 more days until "Sex and The City" hits theaters. There is only one other person as excited as me....her name is Tia (Charlotte). We are celebrating (belatedly..is that a word??) Tia's birthday on the weekend that SATC hits theaters and I cannot wait. We are getting dressed up, wearing heels, drinking cosmos, shopping and watching our girls come to the big screen. Now if someone would only make a move of "Friends".....hmmmmm.

Love from your friend, Carrie, I mean Rachel, I mean Julie.
I am so tired. I worked all day and then I was the entertainment at the birthday party of the daughter of one of my customers. The girls were so much fun! The birthday girl (Katie) was turning 13 and she had 5 friends over and I think they really enjoyed themselves. They got to make a 5 x 5 scrapbook page, candy basket and bookmark. They were almost as loud, chatty and crazy as my stamp club girls (I said almost...even 13 year olds can't beat them!) I will post the projects tomorrow after I get home from work (yuck!) Have a great Saturday! Thanks for visiting!

Tween Birthday Party Ideas

Recently I was asked to design some birthday party projects for the daughter of one of my customers (Hi Anita & Katie!) This is one of the ideas that I came up with (but not the one that we are using - I will post that this weekend, after the party is over). I used the Priceless Set to make this 5 x5 scrapbook page, candy basket and bookmark. If you would like your daughter to have a Stampin' Up! birthday party, you can contact me at lexyjulz1@aol.com for price quotes and customized samples.

Hostess Appreciation Night Project

Here is one of the projects my Stamp Tramps made for Hostess Appreciation Night. This is a photo album and the pages are made of SU! Clear Envelopes. This is the cover and it is stamped with the "Pretty Amazing" stamp set. I thought this would be a great project for the girls to make for Mother's Day gifts. They seemed to really like it. Everyone had a great time. Stupid me, I forgot to take pictures of the girls, they are hardly ever here all at the same time. My dear hubby barbequed chicken breasts for dinner and we had baked potatoes, salad and garlic bread. For dessert we had an ice cream sundae bar and that seemed to go over really well. Tia was the big winner, she ended up with 2 stamp sets, Gina ended up with one but Amanda won the mystery hostess drawing and earned an extra $25.00 in hostess awards. Go Amanda! I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves and I can't wait to have the next one!

No pics yet.

Well, I was going to post pics of my hostess appreciation night projects and gifts, but my scanner is not cooperating at this moment. I cannot
spend too much time on it, I have stamp camp samples to create. I will get the hubby to take a look at it. I will post later. Have a great Sunday!

Yahoo!! I am so excited. I logged on to the Stampin' Up! demo website today and found out that my card was one of yesterday's featured cards in the Stamper's Showcase! I cannot believe it! To the left is the swap that I made for the Oakland SU! Regionals. At regionals, there is a basket where you can drop one of you swaps in for SU! to have. They sometimes use these cards for future regional or convention displays, Stamper's Showcase on the demo site as well as the SU! magazine publication. They chose my card! I am so excited, can you tell? Unfortunately, this website that it is posted on is available to demos only, so my customers cannot look at it. I have the card posted on my SU! site as well as SCS but never did I think SU! would feature it on the demo site. You made my day, Stampin' Up!
The stamp set that I used is called "She's all that" and is available in the SU! mini catalog that expires May 31st, so if you are interested in purchasing this set, please contact me.
Well, I must be off, I need to put the finishing touches on my Hostess Appreciation Night....my Stamp Tramps will be here at 7pm for dinner, dessert, games, make-n-takes and 2 super cute projects that I will post tomorrow! Happy Saturday!

Not much posting this week.

Hi everyone. I won't be posting much this week because I will be putting in a lot of overtime at my boring, day job. Our accounting system has been down for a month (which meant a lot of time off for stamping!)but is now back up. Unfortunately we lost everything for 2008 so we have to recreate Jan, Feb and most of March as well as work on April. This means no time for stamping this week! But I have a little sneak peak for all of you SU! lovers. If you go to Patty's blog you can see some gorgeous stamps, paper and colors that will be available in the next catalog. Patty got to see all of these items on the wonderful cruise to Bermuda that SU! gave her and many, many other demos. You can find her link at the bottom right hand side of this page, listed under "Fabulous Blogs that I stalk". Take a gander and let me know what you think. Bye for now!

Hostess Appreciation Night Invitations

Well, I was going to show you the card I made today, but I got so wrapped up in a project that my hostesses are going to make next Saturday that I didn't make anything that I could post. However, here are the invitations that I made for my Hostess Appreciation Night. I used the SU! Level 2 Hostess Bundle "Spring Solitude". How appropriate is that? Anyway, each of my 7 girls got a different design and each hostess that brings their invitation to the party on Saturday will be entered into a special drawing. Good luck ladies!

Off to breakfast at Panera Bread! Yummy! I will post a project later. I need to deliver orders to customers and finish Hostess Appreciation Projects for next Saturday. Meanwhile, check out Angie's blog, there are super cute projects featured here. I love her ideas!http://schwooo.blogspot.com/

I feel a little "Miss Guided"

No cards tonight, I am really tired, long work day (icky payroll). I do, however, want to share something with you TV addicts (such as myself). If you haven't checkedt out yet, there is the cutest and funniest new show on ABC on Thursday nights at 8pm. It is called "Miss-guided" and is about the adventues of a gal who is now the guidance counselor at the very high school that she was a student at. This show is hilarious! It premiered about 3 weeks ago and every week there are 2 brand new back to back episodes. If you were a teenager in the 80's like me (as this gal was) you will really enjoy this show. It stars Judy Greer (the best friend from "13 Going on 30" and "The Wedding Planner") It is also produced by Ashton Kutcher (love him)! He made a guest appearance last week that was awesome! Anyway, just thought I would share. For all of you that are going into withdrawal from no "Grey's Anatomy" this cute little sitcom might be a good filler. Have a great Friday!

I am so proud of my Stamp Tramps!

I am so proud of my Stamp Tramps!(My stamp club members). They are so awesome and my girl Ruby Johnson is one crafty cardmaker. I thought I would post a card she made for our Stamp Camp Card Contest last year. This card was made with Crab & Co. which I think is a truly adorable stamp set. Ruby won the contest for that Stamp Camp as well as 2 more since then. I like to think my ideas and influence are what inspire her (lol!).

I don't know if you can see it from this pic but Ruby accented the shells with Crystal Effects and it really made this a WOW!! card. I have another reason that for posting this card.....I wanted to see if she really reads my blog....hee,hee,hee. Let's see if she responds.

Carousel Note Memory Purse (My version)

Many thanks to Jan Tink and Patty Bennett
for this project idea. Is this not the perfect Mother's Day Gift? I first saw this gorgeous memory purse on the blogs of Jan and Patty(hope you are enjoying Bermuda!) and knew I had to attempt one. I stayed up until 2am one Friday night making this project. It took me about 3 hours to figure it out from a picture that I printed from Patty's blog but I think I did a pretty good job. It was actually quite simple once I figured out the basic measurements. This purse was constructed using Stampin' Up! Carousel Notes and their matching envelopes. I will be teaching this class on April 26th so my customers can make one just in time for Mother's Day. Again, many thanks to Jan and Patty for sharing this fabulous idea!
I hope everyone had a great April Fool's Day and no one played any tricks on you! I must go now to make sure the kiddies have completed their homework and to watch American Idol and cheer on my fave, David Cook. Goodnight, all!
