Loving Bella Rose!

I am absolutely loving the new Stampin' Up! Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. I paired it up with the "Dreams du Jour" Stamp Set from the upcoming fall catalog and I love the way it turned out. As always, I had to add a butterfly image to the card....this is also part of the new "Dreams du Jour" set. I used my new handy-dandy scallop edge punch to make the funky little piece under the stamped image as well as the scallop between the "Pirouette Pink" and polka dotted pieces of paper. I am so excited over the new In-Colors as well. I used a blender pen and In-Color inks to color the stamped image as well as the white gel pen to highlight the "Baja Breeze" element. I am really happy with this design. Thanks for looking!

Saturday's Stamp Class

Here are a couple of cards from Saturday's Stamp-a-stack class. The card with the bird is a design that I CASE'd with a variation from this month's Stampin' Success because I knew it would be a quick and easy card (perfect for class). I switched out the polka dotted background for one with a flower image. The card with the heart is my own design. Both of these cards were stamped with the "Always" stamp set, one of my personal favorites. Like the Stampin' Success card, I chose the same color group of Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Kraft and Certainly Celery. To me this color group is very fresh and summery.

The light wasn't quite right in my dining room when I snapped these pics, so I am not sure if you can see the chocolate chip flower spots that are stamped on the brown strip of card #2. These were 2 cards that I did not use glitter on, which is very hard for me, cuz I think there should be bling on everything! Thanks for looking!

Hello Lover..............

Here is my very first post for a card made with new SU! goodies! This is a card that I gave my BFF Ruby for her B-day yesterday and she loved it! It features a brand spanking new stamp set called "Party Hearty" and it is from the upcoming Fall/Winter catalog. Don't ya just love the new In Colors? This card was made up of 4 of the 6 new colors: Pacific Blue, Pink Pirouette, Red Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. I used the absolutely fabulous new Bella Rose Designer Series paper as well as Build a Brads, Mini Beads (in Pink) and silver brads. But the best part was the NEW Scallop Edge Punch that finsished off my piece of Red Riding Hood Red! Love this new punch! No more corner rounder or slit punch to make scalloped edges. Yahoooo! BTW, if you happen to check out the awesome new movie "MAMMA MIA!" you will see all of the new In Colors throughout the gorgeous scenery and beautiful costumes. If you haven't seen this movie, get your fanny down to the theater because it is the 2nd best movie that I have seen all year (#1 is Sex and the City, of course!) You will leave the movie singing and dancing to the marvelous tunes of ABBA. Not an ABBA fan? You will be after this movie!

Sneak Peek SCS Swap

Since I was not able to attend the SU! convention this year, I decided to join an online swap group at SCS. I will be swapping with 24 other demos in the US and Canada and I am so excited to be a part of this. I cannot post my entire card, as it has not been sent off to the hostess or other swappers yet, but here is a little sneak peek. This is currently my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp set and I was so glad to learn that it was NOT being retired. Anyone that knows me well knows that I have a thing about butterflies (and birds) so this stamp set was right up my alley. I had all of the elements of my card cut and stamped and ready to assemble a few weeks ago, but when I saw the new scallop edge punch, I knew that assembly would have to wait! This is a shot of the circle scallop portion of my card, but it looks even better now that I have added the other scallop as well. I will post another sneek peek shot soon and then the entire card, after they have made it into the hands of my fellow swappers. Thanks for looking!

One Sheet Wonder Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I recently made for one of my upcoming classes: The One Sheet Wonder! The concept of the class is to basically stamp your own design of background paper and then make several cards from one sheet. This card was made with the ever-popular "Priceless" stamp set and the color palette for this particular "one sheet wonder" is: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Creamy Caramel and Pretty in Pink. The words on the cards are from the "One of a Kind" stamp set as well the large embellishment on the top card. Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Ruby!

Today is one of my best friend's birthday. She is currently in Reno (gambling with her hubby) but I just want to give her a shout out! Ruby: I know you are out of town and will not see this, but I hope you have a very Happy Birthday, dear friend. Can't wait for that Bo Bice Concert/Birthday Celebration! Yee-haw!

Awesome Stamp Class with Patty Bennett!

A few Saturdays ago I was fortunate enough to attend a class taught by the adored Stampin' Up! Executive Demonstrator, Patty Bennett. I have always admired her work and stalked her blog and was lucky enough to swap cards with her at Oakland regionals. When she posted her class schedule for the summer, I immediately signed up for one of her classes. I live about 90 miles from her house so my friend Tia an I made the drive to the Bay Area for the class and we were not sorry. Patty is a wonderful teacher and such a sweet lady. Her other students were members of her downline as well as her customers and they were a great bunch. The project that we made was a Double Pull Out Coaster Book and it was so cool. I used Ginger Blossom DSP and Tia used Summer Picnic DSP. We were all very jealous of Tia's book when she was done, because the cherries were just so darn cute! If you would like more info on the project or Patty's fantastic blog here is the link:

Sneak Peek Sunday - It's a Button Bouquet!

Look at these adorable buttons! They are in the new In-Colors!!!!
The assortment includes buttons in Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red. It contains 30 buttons in five styles (six buttons per style). The bouquet will cost $7.95. These are just too precious for words.
Won't these be adorable as the center of a stamped flower or an accent on a scrapbook page?

No projects, just a great read!

I thought I would take a break from posting about stamp projects (because I have been stamping all day) and chat a bit about a wonderful book that I read a few weeks ago. If you know me, then you know that I often pick up a book because the cover intrigues me and that is true with this novel but the summary on the back was even more intriguing. I picked it up at B&N a few weeks back and then put it down again, but I kept thinking about it and went back for it a few days later. I was not sorry that I purchased it. Here is an excerpt from the back : "The Waverleys have always been a curious family, endowed with peculiar gifts that make them outsiders even in their hometown of Bascom, North Carolina. Even their garden has a reputation. For the Waverly history is in the soil. And so are their futures". There are 4 main characters in this book, Claire and Sydney, elderly cousin Evanelle, and an apple tree from which apples that predict the future are produced. This is one of the most magical stories that I have read in a very long time. I am not usually one for books that are a bit fantasy like, and I haven't liked one since "Practical Magic", but this book was fantastic. It kind of reminds me of the female bonds and mystical storyline of "Practical Magic" but with a lot more warmth involved. This book will truly cast a spell on anyone who picks it up, so I highly encourage everyone to do so.

Final Saturday Night Recipe Swaps

Here they are...the final 2 swaps. These cute little swaps were made by Amanda and they both feature SU Summer Picnic Paper. The first recipe is for Texas Hash, which we sampled that night, and it was delish. I liked it so much that I made it for dinner the next night! It can also make a very tasty stuffer for tacos or burritos.

The second recipe is for a great summer Spinach Salad which would be perfect for your July 4th picnic today. Speaking of picnics, how cute are those little ant stickers on the Texas Hash Recipe. I also love the orange slice on the Spinach Salad Recipe. Once again, an image from the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set, which my stampin' pals love so much. That's all for today, so have a safe and sane and Happy 4th of July!

More Recipe Swaps

Two more swaps from Saturday Night...these were made by Amelia. Love the Felt Fusion Flowers on the White Sangria Recipe! Who doesn't love a good Sangria...the perfect summer drink.

The bottom recipe was the one that Amelia brought for us to try on Saturday night. These rollups would be perfect for your July 4th picnic! Yumm-o!

Some more Saturday Night Recipe Swaps

So here are a couple more recipe swaps. It's hard to read the recipes in these 2 pics, but here is what they are (and if you click on the pic you will get a closer look. The pink one on the left is Sandra's Strawberry Cake, which was so damn good (so good that I dreamt about it that night!). It is very moist and luscious and sweet and tasty and I could go on forever about this cake. I wish that I had taken a picture of it. It was pink and fluffy and I really need to stop thinking about this cake. Moving on, she stamped the recipe page with Birthday Whimsy (A Sale-a-bration set) and used Berry Bliss DS Paper for the background. Very lovely!

The green page to the right is a recipe for Pot Roast that sounds perfect for a family Sunday dinners! As a bonus I took a snapshot of Sandra holding Tia's adorable beagle, Bailey. Is he not the cutest thing? Look at that squishy little cutie pie face!

That's all for tonight. I must go place a SU! order for some sneak peak goodies from the upcoming Fall/Winter Catalog. Here's a hint......Shabby Chic, Baja Breeze and sock monkeys! What?!?! It will make sense soon enough. Can't wait to share with everyone soon!

Still more Saturday Night Recipe Swaps

It's a Ruby Tuesday! These gorgeous swaps were made by my talented bud Ruby J. Love the recipe for Jello Cake (just like Grandma used to make). Of course everyone knows that the stamp set used for that recipe is SU!'s "Tart & Tangy" which I do believe that every single one of my friends and customers has purchased from me. It seems to be the current fave and I can see why: look at what you can make with it!

The recipe on the bottom was stamped with "Crab & Co" and is always a crowd-pleaser, which by the way, so was the Shrimp & Tortellini that Ruby cooked for us on Saturday night. I do have to say, my buddies are very talented in the the kitchen as well as the stamp room!
