Teenie Weenie Scrapbooks!

So I decided to make some Teenie Weenie Scrapbooks a few weeks ago and this is what I came up with. The one above features a brand new Stampin' Up! stamp set called "Inspired by Nature" that I absolutely adore! I made these little books as a thank you to my friends/customers that came to Stamp Camp a few weeks ago. They are super easy to make, just some cardstock, Crop-o-dile (can't live without that thing!) and jumbo eyelets. Diane, I have one waiting for you too! See you at the next class!

This Teenie Weenie below gave me a chance to use the new "Birds & Blooms" Sizzlet die for my new Big Shot Die Cut Machine. The little bird (anyone that knows me, knows that I have a bird fetish!) is so cute and I used the SU! Brushed Silver Cardstock (one of my faves) to make it. I thought it looked very bridal, so I made a little wedding favor with it. Sorry the pic isn't better, If you click on the pic you can enlarge it and see the words better.I used "Define your LIfe" and stamped "always" with its definition in pink on the shimmery white paper and then stamped "a" with silver ink on the circle and mounted it on the scallop that also comes with the die. Don't you think this would make an awesome bridal shower or wedding favor? Now, if I only knew someone that was getting married! Drop me a comment and let me know what you think and I will make a Teenie Weenie Scrapbook for you!

Thanks for Looking!

September Stamp Club Projects

I'm a little late posting these since Stamp Club was a couple of weeks ago, but I figured better late than never. The above card was made using the "Upsy Daisy" Stamp Set that is currently 15% off (expires Sept. 30th). I used Shimmery White Paper, something that a lot of people don't know about and it really went over well. I sold quite a few packages of it. It is a great way to add some subtle bling to a project. This card also features the new "Urban Garden" Designer Series Paper which coordinates perfectly with this stamp set and Grey Taffeta Ribbon.
Card #2 was made with the new "Easter Blooms" Stamp Set as well as the flower and mini scallop from the "Birds & Blooms" Sizzlet Dies for our new Big Shot Die Cut machine. I also used my new favorite hostess set: Level 1 "Best Yet" which is a group of great phrases. You can get your set free by hosting a workshop or purchasing $150.00 worth of product online. Also used were the pearl from the Pretties Kit, Shimmery White Paper, and Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon. I thought this card was kind of funky, but everyone seemed to like it. What do you think? The first person to post a comment wins the card!
The final project was a 6" x 6" scrapbook page featuring the "Party Hearty" Stamp Set. I also used the new Riding Hood Red "Patterns" Designer Series Paper. In addition, I liked both of the new Riding Hood Red Ribbons, so I used them. The wider one is a striped grosgrain and the narrower one is a white edged taffeta. The flowered piece of DSP can be flipped over to the striped side if you want to make the page for a boy's birthday.
Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Today I turn the big 40 and in honor of that some of my closest friends and I went to a movie, dinner and a concert last night. It was great fun. We saw "My Best Friend's Girl" with Kate Hudson and Dane Cook. It was okay with some really funny parts. We had a late lunch at BJ's Brewhouse (gotta have the Chocolate Chip Pizookie...yum) and then we capped off the evening with a trip to Shoreline Amphitheater to see Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey. Yes, I was a teenager in the 80's. Cheap Trick was good, Heart was awesome and Journey was great with their new lead singer, Arnel. He has really brought a youthful energy to the group and his voice is very similar to Steve Perry.
Anyway, the card above was made by my sisterfriend, Ruby. Isn't it adorable? She used my fave new paper, Bella Rose, and a layout that she learned from Angie at Stamp Camp. I would show you Tia's card, but I left it in Ruby's car.
I do, however, have a pic of the beautiful CD Holder that Tia made for our party bags. She made a cd of Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey's greatest hits and it turned out really nice. Below is a shot of the inside.
The 6x6 pages below were made by Ruby for our party bags. We make these for each other so we can put our birthday pics in a special scrapbook. I thought these were super cute and can't wait to add my pictures to them as soon as I get them from Ruby's camera.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Say it with Scallops and help others!

In case you haven't seen my post about Stampin' Up!'s great new stamp set: "Say it with scallops", here is a reminder. Whenever a wonderful stamper (such as yourself!) purchases this set, Stampin' Up! donates $2.00 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald house is a wonderful organization that helps sick children and their families during their greatest time of need, when they are in the hospital receiving treatment. It provides a place for the family to stay during this time as well lots of other kind of support. By purchasing this stamp set (That coordinates with our square scallop punch, by the way) you are not just getting another great SU! set, you are donating to one of the greatest children's charities in this country. So check out the flyer above for more info on how you can help.

Have a great Saturday and hug your kid today!

Busy, Busy Week!

Not really much time for posts this week. I haven't had a chance to make anything new to post. My BFF Sandra went into the hospital Thursday evening to have her baby and he did not make an appearance until 2:53 a.m. on Saturday morning! I did not get home from the hosptial until 6:30 a.m. and I have kind of been behind all week ever since. I did get to go to a great stamp class that was given by my upline, Kim. I am too tired to snap pics right now, but I will share my cards in a couple of days! I will also share pics of Ayden Michael Newcomb taken just minutes after he entered this world. He is such a little sweetie!

Happy Birthday Amelia!

Here is the birthday card that I made for my dear friend, Amelia (or as my kids call her: Ti-ti, which is a take on the Portuguese word Tia which means Aunt). Her birthday was actually on September 9th but I did not get to see her until the following Saturday so I just wanted to give her a little shout out! I used the new "Easter Blooms" and "Best Yet" stamp from Stampin' Up and the new "Hawaii Papaya" Designer Series Paper. It matches wonderfully with our new In Colors: Kiwi Kiss and Totally Tangerine and with my old fave, Chocolate Chip. The floral piece in the background is actually stamped with "Eastern Blooms" to match the rest of the DSP. I also used the scalloped edge punch and the paper piercer and mat pack. I loved this card so much that I made 20 more for my demo meeting swaps at Bev's a few weeks ago. The best part of the card is inside: a SU! gift certificate because I know Amelia will enjoy shopping out of that gorgeous new catalog!

You Rock!

Hello all! I just wanted to share with everyone the winning card from the Stamp Camp card contest. This super cute card was swapped and entered into our card contest by Jessica Dickerson, a brand new demonstrator! This card features our new stamp set: "Just Jawing" which can be used for halloween or I think it would be a great card for a teenage girl (or me!). It also features our Halloween Designer Series Paper called "Ghostly Greetings". Our cardmaker used a very inventive idea. The skull printed paper features white skulls, but she inked up a brayer and turned them pink (Pink Passion ink). She also embossed the cute cherries and "You rock" phrase (also included in the set) with our silver heat embossing powder.
So yo can basically create whatever color scheme you like! How awesome is that? There is also a matching Stampin' Around Wheel called "Scary Skulls" that you can use as well. Of course this stamp set was on my next order and my daughter, who is NOT a stamper (sniff, sniff) cannot wait to get her hands on it.
So if you come to stamp camp and you take part in the swap you can take home cards as cute as this and maybe even win a prize. Something to think about.....

More Stamp Camp Projects!

The card above is one of the cards that was demo'd by Andrea. It features the "Say it with Scallops" Stamp Set which is a SU! limited edition Ronald McDonald House set. For every set purchased SU! donates $2.00 to the Ronald McDonald House Foundations which helps sick kids and their families across the country. This set was paired with our new square scallop punch and 2 of our new In Colors: Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. The card below was also Andrea's and features one of my fave stamp sets: "Kind Thoughts". This card is actually an envelope with that was ran thru the crimper with the end sliced off to make a lid, basically. There is a piece of CS inside with a round tab so you can pull it out and write your greeting on it. Very inventive!
The photo of the card below does not do it justice, as my flash kind of washed out the colors. This was my favorite card from Stamp Camp and it was demo'd by Karen. She used the new "Inspired by Nature" Stamp Set with markers and it just made a beautiful watercolor effect. This card was simple to make but looks like a million bucks. Pirouette Pink and Basic Black Cardstock paired together make a bold statement and the green piece is from Bella Rose DSP.
A little Dazzling Diamonds was added to the top of the flower and WOW, what a gorgeous card!

The purse card above was Linda's project and it was so cute! It features the "Easter Elegance" stamp set paird with Haiku DSP. The campers loves the sponged flower technique as it made the flower look so real. Please pardon my empty tag, as I forgot to stamp my sentiment.
The final card, Mr. Turkey (Gobble, gobble!) was Bev's project. Let me tell you a bit about Bev, she comes up with the greatest uses for our supplies and never ceases to amaze me! This turkey was created using the scallop circle punch (his feathers and body) Boho Blossoms Punch (his beak and feet). We sponged him for effect and then added the "Gobble" from the Pictogram stamp set. Adorable, as usual!
Just wanted to say thanks to all the fellow demos that participated in camp last weekend, you are a great bunch of ladies and it is a pleasure working with you. Can't wait for the next one!

Sharing some Stamp Camp love with you......

We have a really great group of local SU! demos that get together at least twice a year to hold this day long stamping event for all of our customers. They get to make 10 projects, have some snacks, meet fellow stampers and photograph some really great displays. We survey our customers and the feedback that we received on this last stamp camp was outstanding! Many told us that it was our best one yet. So if you live in the Central Valley area of California you might want to check us out. You are guaranteed to have a great time.
Anyway, the card above was the project that I demo'd for our customers.
When I saw this card on her blog I totally envisioned a dress made from the new "Bella Rose" Designer Series Paper. This paper is my new fave and I think it gave the dress a very vintage feel. The bodice of the dress was stamped with a petal from our
"Pick a Petal" Stamp Set and then punched out with the large oval punch and then cut in half to form a bodice. The fold was a little tricky but everyone really liked the finished card. Got lots of compliments. The instructions are on LMac's Blog and you can check out her version made with vellum. Very sparkly!

The darling card above was demo'd by Angie, another really great demonstrator that I have gotten to know the past few months and she is a lot of fun to hang out with. My customers that attend Stamp Camp really like her projects. She used the new "Easter Blooms" stamp set and Hawaii Papaya Designer Series Paper and everyone loved the simple little knot in the grosgrain ribbon, a nice change from a bulky bow.

The elegant Christmas Card above was demo'd by my upline, Kim. She always has great ideas and is a stamp camp fave. She used "Baroque Motifs" stamp set and Canvas BG Stamp, Bravo Burgundy CS & Ink, Old Olive CS & Ink, Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon and a half circle bead from the fabulous "Pretties Kit". If you haven't gotten the "Pretties Kit" you should, that little tin box holds so many wonderful embellishment elements: beads, silk flowers, hat pins, crystals, rhinestone brads. It is lots of bling in one package.

The card above is another creation by my upline, Kim. She turned the birthday themed "Party Hearty" into this awesome Christmas card using the new In Colors: Riding Hood Red, Pirouette Pink and Kiwi Kiss. How cute is this? Instead of party hats, we got Christmas Trees! Just another way to get multiple uses out of our wonderful stamp sets. She also used the Polka Dotted BG Stamp, the luscious new Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon and the great new phrase set "Heard from the Heart".

The final card that I am posting today is a matchbook card that was demo'd by Patty, another super great demonstrator. She is my sideline and always has such wonderful ideas. My customers lover her too, she is so very patient with our Stamp Campers. Patty used our "Embrace Life" Stamp set which is very elegent and Asian themed. It is one of our most popular and this flower image was a great way to show our stampers how easy it is to use the blender pens to color in an image. The colors of this card came together beautifully and there is a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the flower for just the right amount of bling!

*****Just a quick shout out to my customers: Sandra, Amelia, Ruby, Diane and Pamela. Thanks for coming to Stamp Camp, hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Your support at Stamp Camp is awesome and means a lot to me. Happy Stampin'!******

Check back tomorrow for the remaining 5 Stamp Camp projects!

Great new blog!

I stumbled across this blog http://caffeineinduced.blogspot.com/ while meandering about the web yesterday and I found everything about it so fascinating. Her photos, dogs, kids and sense of humor are great. Oh yeah, she is also a Stampin' Up! demo and she makes gorgeous projects so that might be another reason why I found it so interesting....lol! Take a gander at it, you will definitely want to go back again.

Think outside the box.

Is this not one of the most gorgeous cards you have ever seen? This is a SU! sample card made with what I call is a "secret" stamp set. Sometimes you have to think outside the box to get a great idea. If you want to know how to get this bee-utiful stamp set, post a comment and I will email you with the answer and a special offer!

Dare to be FABULOUS!

So, Kiwi Kiss is one of my new favorite In Colors from SU! I paired it with Lovely Lilac (a color that I don't seem to use that often) and this is what I came up with. I just bought this SU! stamp set - Dare to be Fabulous - not long ago because of the wonderful projects that my upline Kim has made with it, so I thought I would ink it up and stamp something really quick. I used Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon because my new Kiwi Kiss ribbon hasn't arrived yet and it worked perfectly. I also added a bit of YoYo Yello and some Lilac colored Circle Rhinestone Brads. This card came together in just a few minutes and I think it is fabulous, don't you? Even without glitter. Can you believe I did not add glitter? I always add glitter. I think the brads are bling enough this time. Anyway, thanks for looking!

Back with Bella Rose!

Hellooooooooo! I am back after a short hiatus due to a combination of craziness at work and a week of stamp camp prep. The best part is that I am now on vacation from work and will have time to share more things this week. This is a little gift card holder that I made from Bella Rose DSP and the Dreams du Jour Stamp Set now available in the new SU! Fall Catalog. I also used new In Color Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. The polka dotted flap lifts up and the flowered flap fold down to reveal a place to attach a gift card. Very quick and easy cute project. Stay tuned for some pics of our gorgeous Fall Stampin' Extravaganza (Stamp Camp) projects!

Very Busy Week!

Not much posting done this week, no time for anything! Baby shower, stamp camp prep, long hours at work but wait, there is light at the end of this long, dark tunnel. I start vacation on Monday (after working on Sunday) so I will have tons of time to organize my craft area, play with my new SU! stuff and share ideas with you. Must finish stamp camp prep now!
