Stamp Club Recipe Swaps

Here are the recipe swaps that we made and traded at our last Stamp Tramp Meeting! Our them was "Favorite Holiday Recipes: Appetizers or Desserts" The first on is mine. This is actually my Aunt Darlene's recipe that she makes every Christmas Eve, but I love it so much that I usually make it on New Year's Eve and for birthday parties. It is a Hot Cheese Dip made from Velveeta and it is sooooooo gooooood!
I used Holiday Treasures DSP, and our Candy Striped Riding Hood Red Grosgrain Ribbon as well as the small Felt Flurries. This recipe card is simple but sweet.
The recipe above was from Amelia and it is for Cranberry Cream Delight which was a very tasty and refreshing dessert. You could actually swap out the cranberry Jello for a different flavor and make this a summertime recipe as well. It was very good! Notice the pointsettia is from the SU! stamp set "Doodle This"!

This recipe is Ruby's and was for New York Style Cheesecake...yummy! Check out the Top Note that was made using the Sizzix Big Shot. This unique shape really adds pizazz to the card.

Ok, I think the recipe above, Sandra's Chocolate Almond Coconut Balls was the hit of the party! These things were so darn good, we just couldn't stop eating them. Sandra left me some and I had to hide them in my fridge so my family would not gobble them up. Sandra always makes a Paula Deen recipe and they always turn out so good! You can't go wrong with Paula Deen, y'all!
I have one more recipe card to share, but I have to wait. Tia made her adorable card with a brand new Stampin' Up Spring/Summer Catalog Stamp set and I cannot show it yet! It is so bee-u-tiful, you will be buzzing with excitement! Do you get my hints?
I will probably not post any more until after Christmas so I want to wish everyone a fabulous holiday and I hope all of your Christmas wishes come true! A special hello to my Stamp Tramps: Merry Christmas, girls!

Last Weeks Stamp Club Projects, Finally

The girls made wall hangings from chipboard coasters and this is how they came out. Aren't they beautiful? From top left: Michelle & Diane (our 2 newest members), Sandra, Amelia and Ruby. Michelle and Ruby duplicated the one that I made as an example, but Diane, Sandra and Amelia designed their own and left room to mount pictures.
I thought the girls did an excellent job and everyone had a great time making them. We applied the DSP using Tombow Glue. We used the retured SU! corner rounder to round the corners because it seemed to best match the corners of the coasters. These coasters were just 5 cents each, so this was a very inexpensive home decor/gift item to make. If you would like more details, just email me and I will be happy to share! Check back tomorrow for pics of our recipe swap cards. Happy Holidays!

Random Mom Stuff

So my friend Lynsey emailed this Youtube video to me and I thought it was the funniest thing that I have seen in a long time....all of you mothers out there will totally get a kick out of this...and recognize many words that have come out of your own mouth...take a look!

The MOM Song!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMhuAtyFCrw

I should send this to the lady in Arkansas (Michelle Duggar) that just gave birth to her 18th child yesterday. 18 kids....and she is 43..Is she crazy or what? If you aren't famliar with her family's story you can read it here: http://www.duggarfamily.com/. The have a show on TLC that comes on right after Jon & Kate Plus 8 (which I totally love). Their show is called "17 kids and Counting".....it is freaky....they annoy me but yet I cannot stop watching....

Stupid memory card!

Hello all! I have so many cute pics to show you of Saturday's Stamp Club projects. However, the stinkin' memory card that came free with my BRAND NEW CAMERA is a dud! It will not work at all. I have emailed Costco for a replacement and they are nice enough to give me a new one, but I cannot get my pics onto my pc. I know they can be transferred using the cord, but I am too retarded to figure that one out, so I must wait until my daughter does it for me. She is mad at me right now for not buying her the new FALL OUT BOY CD that came out today. Little does she know (and she won't see this as she doesn't give a poo about my blog) that I got if for her stocking. Anyway, I just spent 3 hours making 2 awesome Christmas presents on Shutterfly for my mom and mom-in-law for Chrismas, so I am about done with this computer. I will try to get her to help me tomorrow. P.S. I will share Shutterfly gifts after Christmas. They are so awesome. If you haven't checked out Shutterfly here is the link: http://shutterfly.com

Still Lovely As A Tree!

So here is my "Lovely as a Tree". As I pulled out this set a few weeks ago, I was thinking about my Grandma Gladys and her white Christmas Tree. She had this tree and I swear it must have been from the 50's or 60's. It was artificial and white and very strange looking to me. The ornaments were bright and some were pink and some were blue. I loved it. Who knew then that those trees and colors would make such a huge comeback. Everywhere I go now, I see artificial trees of pink, blue, white, heck, I even saw a black one at Borders Books tonight. When I see those trees I think of Grandma and I miss her so much. The whole Perkins side of the family would gather at her house on Christmas Eve and eat and open presents. It was so magical. So this card is dedicated to my Grandma and her funky tree (which would now be considered vintage). Merry Christmas, Grandma. We miss you.
Supplies: All Stampin' Up!, Not Quite Navy CS, Sweet Always DSP, Lovely as a tree & Cute and Curly Stamp Sets. Top Note Die, Pretty in Pink Marker, Not Quite Navy Stamp Pad, Encore Silver Stamp Pad, Curly Label Punch, Pink Round Rhinestone Brads and of course, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter1

Ruby Johnson does it again!

This gorgeous card was made by my best friend Ruby J and it was the winner of the card contest at Stamp Camp a few weeks ago! Congrats Ruby. I think this makes her a 3 or 4 time winner of the Stamp Camp card contest. She used one of my all time fave stamp sets: Lovely as a Tree. I gotta say, this stamp set has been around a while and each year someone comes up with a new way to use it. She stamped the tree off of the edge of the top note and then sponged the edged for a vintage look and then glittered up every other tree. It is even more stunning in person. I used this set to make a vintage shabby chic Christmas card and I will post that picture tomorrow after I get back from a girls day out: christmas shopping, movie watching and dinner with the chicas! We are going to see "Four Christmases" which looks really funny, so I will let you know tomorrow how it was!

Stamp Retreat Shoebox Project

Here is my shoebox project for our Stamper's Retreat a few weeks ago. If you are not familiar with a shoebox project here is what it means: You design a project and then you prepare supplies, stamps and cardstock for however many people are going to be in your class or group and you stick it all in a shoebox. You then take it to your meeting, class or get-together and everyone gets to make each other's projects.

This card was mine and it featured the butterfly, bumblebee and script stamps from the set "Flores Suaves" that is in our spanish catalog "Celebrando Creatividad". I love this set because of the butterfly and bee and also because of the script stamp (very similar to "French Script" from a couple of years ago, but in spanish). I paired the set with Not Quite Navy Ink and CS, Patterns DSP in Pirouette Pink and Baja Breeze and I used the Top Note die for the Big Shot. I used a "Pretty in Pink" marker to outline the edge of the Top Note and then added 2 way glue and pink chunky glitter. I stamped one of the butterflies on vellum and cut it out and stuck it on with a dimensional just to make it pop. I topped it all off witha piece of Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. I was really pleased with this card and the girls voted it their fave in the contest at the retreat which made me really happy as these ladies are super-stampers and awesome designers themselves.

They are so awesome, in fact, that they designed and created this banner using Bella Rose DSP and the Pennant die for the Big Shot. How cool is that? I snapped a pic of some of the ladies standing on the balcony of the cabin with the banner. From left: Kim, Patricia, Carissa, Pam, Bev, Angie and Karen. What a great group of stampers!

Special gifts from special friends

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a Stampin' Up! Demo's retreat up in Arnold. Our little soiree was hosted by 2 of our uplines, Beverlee and Karen. I have to say, these ladies are the sweetest, most supportive leaders. We stayed in a beautiful cabin in the mountains, all of the leaves were red and yellow and the drive was just gorgeous. The best part, however, was the time that I got to spend with such a wonderful group of stamping superstars! My sideline Kathy drove us (our awesome upline Kim and I) up on Saturday morning and we spent the entire day and night just stamping and eating, eating and stamping! The experience was unforgettable! Our group is made up of such wonderful, positive, creative, supportive women and we had such a fun time sharing project ideas, supplies, cooking meals, laughing and playing games. I am so proud of our group, we even stamped over 20 cards to donate to the Ronald McDonald House! I gotta say, we rock! The 2 adorable items that you see above were given to us by our hostesses, Beverlee and Karen. Bev made these cute little candy bottles for us and when we woke up on Sunday morning we found these beautiful notebooks, monogrammed no less, waiting for us on our tables. Karen had stayed up most of the night making these as a suprise for us! This is why I am part of the Stampin' Up! sisterhood, there is no experience like it!
I just want to give a shout out to all of the ladies that I spent time with - Bev, Karen, Kim, Kathy, Linda, Angie, Patricia, Pam, Debbie and my newest stamping friend, Carissa! I will share more pics tomorrow as well as a couple of awesome projects that were made at retreat. See ya then!

Stamp Camp Projects

On Saturday, November 22, I was fortunate enough to participate (as a demo) in a Stamp Camp hosted by my friend (and upline) Kim. We had 23 ladies come to her house to enjoy a day of stamping as well as shopping our garage sale of retired stamps and accessories. The ladies loved our cards and got some great garage sale bargains, which means we made a little cash to use for Christmas presents (or pre- order items from the upcoming Spring/Summer Catalog)! I am always sad to say goodbye to my retired sets,
but I know they found good homes.
These 2 cards were the ones that I taught to the ladies and they really seemed to like them a lot.
The card above features our Holiday Treasures DSP as well as the Big Shot Top Note Die, Curly Label Punch Bundle and Riding Hood Red Cardstock. It showcases just one more way to use your Top Note. What a versatile product!
The card below features my favorite holiday set this year: Winter Post! I absolutely love the vintage look of this set and I hope SU! comes out with more vintage looking items as our customers really seemed to like this set! I used a strip of Ski Slope DSP (featured in the Holiday mini catalog, along with this stamp set and the Big Shot Top Note Die). We watercolored the skating couple using ink and blender pens and then added a litte bling (Dazzling Diamonds)!
Please excuse the blurry pics, my camera is a bit fussy these days. Hope you enjoy the projects and I will have a few more things to share tomorrow!
