Anniversary Card

Here is another Anniversary card that was a reject for my Wedding/Anniversary card class. It was only rejected because it was more time consuming than I wanted for the class. These colors are Dusty Durango, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Kraft. This card was also inspired by Kimberly Van Diepen, one of my SU! idols. I used the "Friends 24-7" stanp set, still one of my favorites. I would list more accessories used, but I am just too stinkin' tired tonight.
I was on a card making marathon for the shop where Ruby and I are now selling our cards. If you would like to check out the shop you can find it at 1016 McHenry Avenue, Modesto. It is called "Unique Boutiques" and is made up of so many awesome tiny boutiques. I went there tonight and it is really coming along nicely. You can find all kinds of stuff: shabby chic and french inspired home decor, some fantastic smelling soy candles, jewelry, purses, Poochie Couture, baby items, furniture, artwork and of course, our cards. I could go on and on, there are so many cool things to choose from, definitely a great place for Christmas shopping! The grand opening is this Saturday from 10-6, so come out and support your local artisians.

If you like a bargain (and who doesn't) now is your chance to pick up some great items at super prices! Stampin' Up! is clearing out our excess retired accessory stock at rock bottom savings. This offer is only valid for online orders so go to my store to view and select your items. There are ribbons, designer series papers, rub-ons and a lot more! And you get to have them shipped directly to you!

Another wedding card and some exciting news!

Hello friends!
Here is another wedding card that I made recently when I was trying to come up with ideas for my last class. This card was inspired by some gift tags that I saw on the gorgeous blog of Kimberly Van Diepen. I love Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Kraft together....and I absolutely love the "Medallion" background stamp! Did you know that this is currently our #1 selling stamp? Is is so versatile and I just love the way it stamps, kind of an aged look. So this card is bits and pieces of different stamp sets. I used Mr. and Mrs. from "All Holidays", For the Newlyweds from "Teeny Tiny Wishes", the butterfly from "Great Friend" and the "En Francais" Background stamp. I also stamped my kraft ribbon with the leaves from "Great Friend".
So I have some exciting news... BFF Ruby and I are going to be selling our handmade cards at the cutest little shop ever! There is a new store opening on October 1st called "Unique Boutiqes" and it is something that I have been waiting for patiently. It is a large store made up of areas that are rented out by different artisans that are selling their handcrafted items. We are so excited about this. We will be the only greeting cards featured in the store and our rack will display 144 cards at a time, which is awesome. So if you would like an Ruby Johnson or Julie Ramos original, please stop by! The shop is located at 1016 McHenry Avenue in Modesto and the Grand Opening will be held on Saturday, October 3rd. We will also be participating in a holiday craft fair at the same location on November 21st so make sure you visit on that day as well. I will share more info about the shop in a later post, so stay tuned.

Cards from last night's class

Hello friends!
Well, last night was the debut of one of my new classes: Just Cards ~ EXPRESS! This will be a monthly class that will have a different them each time. My goal is to give everyone the chance to make cards for all kinds of occasions. Last night's them was Wedding/Anniversary. Of course, I also bring other sentiment stamps so my stampers can customize their cards to whatever occasion for which they might need a card. The cards are very quick and easy designs so it doesn't take too long to make them and you get to stamp matching envelopes for them as well. Well, our group last night had so much fun! We were just dying in laughter over Brenda's stories. She is such a card! Which is perfect for a card making class...LOL! Yes, I know, bad joke. But we did have a blast laughing at her crazy stories. It was great to have a girl's night out!
Anyway, the card on top was cased from one of my very favorite card designers and fellow demonstrator, Kimberly Van Diepen. I loved the simplicity of this card. Just a bunch of circles stamped with "Circle Circus" plus a bunch of of circles punches with various punches and then ran through the Big Shot with the "Final Press" Textured Impression Folder. I love the Whisper White paired with Soft Suede. Very elegant!

Now you might recognize the card above as being very similar to one of my convention swaps. The color combo and layout are the same, but I ran the flowers that were cut from the "Flower Folds" die through the Big Shot using the "Petals-A-Plenty" Textured Impressions Folder and added this sentiment from the "Full of Life" stamp set. The flowered piece in the middle was stamped with one of the stamps from "For All You do" and punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch. It is kind of hard to see, but the Whisper White Background piece was also embossed using the "Elegant Bouquet" Textured Impressions Folder.
I will post more of the cards that we made as well as some that didn't make it to the class that night. I just got carried away making Wedding/Anniversary cards and ended up making way too many. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A Little Greenhouse Garden

Hello friends!
I went on a stamping frenzy a few weekends ago and this was one of the creations that I came up with. It features the "Greenhouse Garden" stamp set, which I absolutely love. It is a 2 step stampin' set which means you get a little dimension on your project because there are 2 stamps for each image.
I haven't decided yet, but this card might be featured in my Just Cards ~ EXPRESS Class on Friday night. What do you think? I did make up a batch of swaps with this design as well, so I hope my fellow swappers like it. Let me know what you think, especially if you are in my class on Friday night. I made so many Wedding/Anniversary cards and I can only choose 6 for the class so I am having a tough time deciding.

Sneak peek from this Friday's class!

For those of you ladies that are attending my Just Cards ~ Express! class on Friday night, here is a sneak peek. This is one of the wedding/anniversary cards that you will be making. You will get to make 5 designs as well as matching envelopes. See you Friday night!

Halloween Projects from yesterday's Stamp Club Meeting

Yesterday the Stamp Tramps met for our September meeting and I thought I would get everyone in the mood for Halloween with these 3 projects.
They featured "From the Crypt" one of our new Halloween stamp sets from the big Catalog and Idea book as well as our "Spooky Treats" Rub-ons and "Cast a spell" Designer Series Paper (also from the big catalog).
The bag is made with the "Fancy Favor" Bigz XL die for Big Shot and the box is the "Matchbox" Bigz XL die for Big Shot. Both of these dies are exclusive to Stampin' Up! so you cannot find them elsewhere.
The color combo is Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum and Old Olive!

Stampin' for a cause...

Hello friends!
So last weekend I told you that we had an awesome stampin' event that Saturday. A bunch of my stampin' friends and I got together and made cards to donate to the Northern California Ronald McDonald House. The girls had so much fun. We used the "Very Thankful" stamp set from the 2009-10 Stampin' Up! Catalog and Idea Book. This set is very special because every time one of our stampin' friends buys one, SU! donates $2.00 to the RMD House. I thought it would be nice if the girls made 2 cards with each stamp in the set for a total of 8 cards. This way they got 4 different cards to take home and then 4 to donate to RMDH. The card above was designed by my BFF and SU! partner, Ruby. How cute is that little turtle?
These were some favors that we made for each of our stampers. The matchbox held Hershey Nuggets and the pocket card held Ghirardelli Squares.

Here is a shot of all 4 cards that were made. I will feature more of them up close in a later post.
All in all it was a great day and we are definitely going to get together again to stamp for a cause. We stamped 40 cards to send to the Ronald McDonald House. To learn more about the Ronald McDonald House of Northern California, click here: http://www.rmhcnc.org/
Happy stampin'!

Convention display items...some 3D's

Girls Rock!
Yes they do and so do these projects made with our Just Jawing Stamp Set! I love the banner made with the Big Shot Pennant Die (which is exlusive to Stampin' Up!, you won't find it anywhere else). I love how SU! keeps up with the trends and how we are always evolving.

Look at this adorable 3 tiered cake. Yes, that is made with the Big Shot Die and how cute is the box that is is packaged in? Love that bulletin board as well.

Can you believe this placemat was made with rolled up pieces of Urban Garden DSP? Wow, she put a lot of work into that! I don't know who made it but it is awesome.

These are just a few of the many HUNDREDS and THOUSANDS of items that were on display at the Gathering Place during convention. It was my first time but not my last. I gotta tell you, I was in heaven when I walked into the hall and saw all of these display boards and racks! I have never shot so many pictures in my life! I can't even describe to you in words the wonderful experience that convention was, except to say WOW!!!
Rejuvenating, inspiring, heartwarming, exciting, ........ I could go on and on and on.
I can't wait for next year, I hope some of you are able to join me!

Conventon pics

Hello friends!
I thought I would start sharing some of my convention pics with you. These first few are of people, not projects! But I promise, I will have those to share as well. I have hundreds of pictures from convention. The pic above is of my lovely demonstrator family made up of uplines and sidelines. Here they are left to right: JoNell, Kathy, Renee, Patty (all Stampin' Sisters), Kim and Beverlee (my Stampin' Moms). I was the one taking the photo so that is why you don't see me, plus I hate having my picture taken! We had so much fun in Salt Lake City, especially at the restaurants where we had great food and excellent service.
Here are some ladies wandering about with the fantastic tote bags that Stampin' Up! gave us, and guess what? They were filled with stamps! We got a bunch of stamps sets and a wheel PLUS the prize patrol handed out stamps galore ever day.

Here is my Stampin' Sister Kathy, engaging in some mad swappin'! This is one of the best parts of convention, swapping cards with the other gals. It was so awesome and we got some gorgeous creations. I will share some of those in a later post.

This is the area in front of Memento Mall, where we waited for a few hours in line on check in day. It was so worth it, as we got to swap the whole time. Now that's a line that I don't mine standing in! It was great chatting up the other demos from all over the country and Canada! So many wonderful people all under one roof with one common bond: STAMPING!!
More pics later!
