Meet my little flower bunny

Click the pic to enlarge for better detail!
Here is my little flower bunny and probably the only Easter card that I will make this year! This cute little guy is from the brand new "Forest Friends" Stamp Set that will be available tomorrow via the Occasions Mini catalog. The Mini catalog features a ton of great new spring stamp sets as well as a new die for the Big Shot and new DSP and the new oval scallop punch and that fabulous Whisper White Satin Ribbon that I have been using on my most recent projects. This is a sheet of the new DSP "A Walk in the Park" The colors featured in this paper pack are: So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze and Going Gray. I used the Flower Daisy#2 die for the Big Shot to create these wonderful flowers. My little bunny friend fits perfectly inside of the 1 1/4" circle punch that I layered on top of another circle and the circle scallop. I also used the Little Leaves Sizzlet die for the leaves and the NEW Scallop Oval Punch for my "Easter Wishes" sentiment which is from the "All Holidays" stamp set. I added an itty, bitty Baja Breeze Flower Fusion and a So Saffron Flower Brad to finish off my spring look. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to my furry little friend, although it is hard to see in this pic.
I hope you like my little flower bunny and before I forget:

Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge #120

Here is a card I made for the DCBD Challenge #120. As you can see from above it was a color challenge, so I got out my "Fifth Avenue Floral" for a little more Watercolor Crayon Resist Techinique. I love this technique and this stamp set because it is perfect for coloring. I sponged the colors on after using the crayon and then I added some glitter, Whisper White Satin Ribbon (hand dyed Rose Red) and a stamped image from the brand spanking new, available to you on April 1st, "Oval All" stamp set. I punched it with the Large Oval Punch and mounted it on a piece punched with the brand spanking new, available to you on April 1st, Scalloped Oval Punch. I then layered it onto another piece punched with the Wide Oval Punch. This photo does not do the card justice, as it is very sparkly in person. Hope you like it!

LIve, Laugh, Love

Hello Stampers!
Here is a card that I made this week while on vacation (actually a stay-cation, since we stayed home this time). It was inspired by this card by the great Andrea Walford:
Okay, I totally cased it, except I changed up the colors to match the new "A Walk in the Park" Designer series paper. I also used the "Great Friend" stamp set instead of Upsy Daisy, because I wanted to feature products from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog. I just got the Scalloped Oval Bigz Die for the Big Shot as part of my recruiting bonus (thanks, Ruby!) and I really like it. The center of the oval and the scalloped frame part come out as 2 separate pieces so you can change out the colors. Pretty cool. I think my second fave Bigz die (#1 is Beautiul Butterflies, of course) is the Flower Daisies #2. I have done so much with those flowers already and I have a special project that I used them on that I will share with you in another post. I love how the small half pearl from the Pretties Kit fits perfectly in the Baja Breeze Flower Button from Button Bouquet. Thanks, Andrea, for that little tip! Hope you all enjoy this sunny, blustery Sunday and I must now get ready for a family BBQ at my in-law's house.
Supplies used: Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral Whisper White and Basic Gray CS. Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral and Basic Gray Stamp Pads. A Walk in the Park DSP. Great Friend Stamp Set. Live, Love, Laugh stamp from On Your Birthday set. Small half pearls and Clear Rhinestone Brads from Pretties Kit. Button Bouquet. Beautiful Butterflies and Flower Daisies #2 Bigz dies for Big Shot. Whisper White Satin Ribbon. Crop-a-dile (to punch holes in oval scallop).

PMS Night Shoebox Project

Good morning stampers!

Here is the project that I designed for last night's PMS (Pizza, Music, Stamping) Night that Kim hosted for all of her downline. We had so much fun! Great food, great projects and great company! Just another great benefit of being an SU demo!

Anyhoo, the color combo on this card is Cameo Coral, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. The DSP on the background and die cut butterflies is from our brand new Occasions Mini Catalog (you should have received this in your mail box last week.) It is called "A Walk in the Park". In this catalog you will also find the awesome Whisper White Satin Ribbon, the Scalloped Oval Punch and the great new stamp set that I used on this card, "Oval All". It coordinates perfectly which this new scallop oval punch as well as our large oval punch. I added a large silver brad and some Dazzling Diamonds to the butterflies to complete my card. I also used the Ticket Corner Punch to make those cute little notches in the corners of my cardstock and DSP.

All of the shoebox projects were so darned cut last night, and a couple of them featured some awesome new color combos. I will share more later. Have a great Saturday and enjoy this beautiful weather (my California readers, anyway...lol)!

Another Bright Card!

Hello Stampers!

Well, here is another color combo that is outside my comfort zone. I wanted to use these 2 patterns that you see on the butterlies, they are from Pink Flamingo DSP, so I had to reach for Real Red and Tempting Turquoise again with a splash of Basic Black. The stamp set is a new one out of the upcoming Occasions Mini (begins April 1st). It is called Very Versatile and I like it because it has quite a few different sentiments in it as well as this pretty floral image. The turqoise piece in the back was ran through the Big Shot using the floral printed Texturz Plate and then I scallope laced the edge. I used the same floral image to stamp a pattern on the red piece, it is hard to see in this pic. The ribbon is our new Whisper White Satin Ribbon that I dyed with my Real Red Ink Pad. I love doing this because the Satin Ribbon is so easy to handle and make bows with (for those of you that are bow challenged, like myself) and I can now have it in any color that I like. I will totally be getting extra rolls to have on hand just for this purpose. As a final touch, I markered the edge of the Top Note with my Basic Black Marker and then added glitter. What do you think? I have more cards to share, but I must go get my shoebox project ready for tonight's PMS Night at my upline Kim's, I can't wait! By the way, PMS = Pizza, Music, Stamping!

Just Buzzin' By Again

Hello stampers!
I promised a couple of weeks ago to show some more projects from my BFF/downline Ruby's open house. Of course, both of these cute items were made with "Just Buzzin' By" which was kind of the theme for the night. I shared the special beehive cake with you a few posts back, and here are 2 more unbee-lievable items! The first card was a favor card with a pocket inside that held a Ghirardelli Square (yum) and the second card was the one that Ruby demo'd at her table. As you can see by the glare on the second card, we used a transparency sheet on it. We just cut it into a normal card size and covered the card with it using glue dots. It added so much to the card. If you look closely you will notice the spots on the favor card have been run through the Big Shot using the polka dotted texturz plate. It added such a nice effect to the card as well. Hope you like the bees and I will return tomorrow with some cards from my 8 for 8 class that I held tonight. Gotta go catch up with Gray's Anatomy and Private Practice right now!

Watercolor Crayon Resist Technique

Hello stampers!
Today I am sharing a card that I made on Sunday that features the watercolor crayon resist technique. I was checking out one of my fave blogs, Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and she always has great video tutorials. So that day she featured the Watercolor Crayon Resist Technique, which was something that I had never done with my watercolor crayons. I totally cased her card, added a little extra Basic Gray and some ribbon. Now, I did not have the Baja Breeze Satin Ribbon from the Valet Ribbon Originals set, so I used our Whisper White Satin Ribbon (avail. April 1st, in the Mini) and dyed it using my Baja Breeze Ink Pad. I loved the way it turned out and I loved this card, especially after I added glitter. Here is a link to Dawn's awesome tutorial and also check out her video on our Watercolor Pencils, it is really helpful.
Supplies used on this card: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White CS, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss Ink Pads, Sponge daubbers, Whisper White Watercolor Crayon, White Satin Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Diva Coffee Break Design Challenge #119

Hello Stampers!
Here is my submission for this week's challenge over at Diva Coffee Break Designs. The challenge was for the layout pictured above and I went out of my color comfort zone and used some bright ones this time.
The combo is YoYo Yellow, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. The large sentiment is from "All Holidays" and the small one is from "All Ovals" which will be available on April 1st in the new mini catalog. I ran my YoYo Yellow cardstock base as well as my Tempting Turqoise strip through the Big Shot using the daisy background Texturz plate. The daisy and butterflies were also cut using the Big Shot, I used Pink Flamingo DSP for those. The oval piece behind the daisy was punched using the Wide Oval punch and the small circle behind the Flower Brad popped out of the daisy after it came out of my Big Shot. I added a couple of yellow flower brads and finally, our brand new white satin ribbon, which is a dream to tie a bow with! This will also be available on April 1st. Watch for tomorrow's post, as I will use the same ribbon with a twist! You can check out the other Diva's Designs here: http://divacoffeebreakdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/03/dcbd-challenge-119.html
Edited to add: Silly me, I did not read the challenge the whole way through, so I did not use Sale-a-bration product on my card, but I liked how it turned out anyway!

RAK"S from my upline!

Happy Sunday morning, Stampers!
After a Saturday that started out sunny, turned gray before dark and then got very rainy overnight, we have woken up to a sunny but VERY windy day! I thought I would share some very happy spring cards with you. These are from my upline, Kim. Thursday night was Stamp Club at her house, but I was not feeling well and my youngest was very sick, so I could not attend. I was bummed because I don't think that I have ever missed a stamp club meeting, I so look forward to making her gorgeous projects. Well, she took pity on me and made the projects for me because she is the best upline ever! Aren't

these cards fantastic? The top card features the new Fifth Avenue Floral Embossing Folder on vellum. That was something that I had not tried yet and it came out beautifully. I love the addition of the wide Pink Pirouette Ribbon and of course, Dazzling Diamonds glitter! The color combo is Pirouette Pink and Certainly Celery.

The second card features a few Big Shot items - all of which are exclusive to Stampin' Up!:
Simple Flower Embosslit, Little Leaves Sizzlet and one of the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. I love the color combo and especially the Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button in the center of the flower. This is a very clean looking spring card and I love it. It also includes one of our newest sentiment stamp sets: Three Little Words, which looks very fairytale-like.

The final card is a perfect example of what can be made with our Sale-a-bration items. The words are from Congrats, the flower images from Botanical Blooms and the stripes are from the Delicate Dots DSP, all off which are SAB items that are free with a $50.00 product order. I love the 2 step stampin' techinique that Botanical Blooms features and check out the ribbon weaving on the Eyelet Border Punch. That is done by punching with our Double Rectangle punch and then threading our 1/4" ribbon through the holes. I think it is an awesome additon to the card. Thanks so much Kim, for making those cards for me, I hope my blog readers enjoy them as much as I do! Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

Sweet and Simple CD folder

Hi stampers! Happy Friday Night!
Here is a cd that I made from my I-Tunes library for my friend Linda in South Carolina. She is the lady that sent me that real cute personalized tote. Anyway, she mentioned that she liked 70's music, so I made a CD for her called Stampin' to the 70's (Linda's Mix). I quickly whipped up this cute little cd gift folder that was inspired by one made by my friend Tia. I changed up the colors and the stamps and here is what it looked like. I used the Simple Friendship stamp set and my colors were Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink. If you click on the top pic you can see the listing of songs that I put on the CD. Some are by the original artists and some are remade by popular artists from today.
She really liked the CD and I made myself a copy and I l really like it too!
I hope to have many projects to show you the next week cuz I am on vacation from my day job...woohoooo! It is really a Stay-cation cuz we are staying home, but I really need that right now. My poor Natty is sick right now with a high fever and chest/cough/crud and we are hoping that it doesn't get passed around, so cross your fingers for me. We might take on some home improvement projects (like finally painting my bedroom) but I am definitely going to stamp a lot! I got lotsa new goodies from the upcoming mini catalog and I cannot wait to create wonderful things to share! Right now, this chickie is going to cuddle up in bed with a good book and relax! Nighty-night!

More Stamp Club Projects

Hello stampers! Wow, did the weekend fly by or what? One minute I am prepping for stamp club and the next it is already Sunday night!

Here are the last 2 projects from Saturday's Stamp Tramp Meeting.
The first card features "Fifth Avenue Floral" which is a favorite among my stamp club (and myself). Color combo is Kraft, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and a touch of Kiwi Kiss. I used my handy dandy "Beautiful Butterflies" die, of course, to make the bling-y butterfly in the top left corner. We stamped the words on transparency plastic (which SU! will have available again on April 1st), and glue dotted them to the stamped vanilla piece. Dots were covered with Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and a Chocolate Chip Jumbo brad.

What's that? Oh, another butterfly! You must be thinking, man, she loves those darn butterflies. You would be right. I think the butterfly die for the Big Shot is my absolute fave item from the new catalog. I just can't stop using it. I added it to this 8x8 scrapbook page that also features the "Simple Friendship" stamp set, which of course, includes a beautiful butterfly stamp, that I DID NOT use on this layout. However, I did add the swirl and little leaves from the Sizzix Sizzlet Dies for the Big Shot. And by the way, I sold another Big Shot this weekend. I'm tellin' ya, I don't know what I did before I got that little machine. How did I live without die cuts? This layout also features Raspberry Tart DSP, a dark brown button from Button Latte' and Dazzling Diamonds. The color combo is my new addiction: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red and Pirouette Pink. I think those colors together are so bohemian and funky. Whaddya think? I think I am totally falling in love with scrapbooking again. I was so intimidated before, because I just had too many scrapbooking supplies and it took forever to complete a layout, because there were just to many choices. Just ask my friend, Tia. We would get together to scrapbook and it would take us literally HOURS to make just one 2 page layout.
I love Stampin' Up! because everything is already coordinated for you. Everything from Designer Series Paper to buttons to brads to ribbon. No hard decisions to make, and if you want to make it even easier, invest in a Simply Scrappin Kit, which includes cardstock, DSP and die cut stickers all coordinated to match. You just add the button/brads, ribbon and your favorite pictures. I will be sharing some really cool ideas made with a Simply Scrappin' Kit real soon, so stay tuned.....

So I hope you enjoyed the projects. I am loving this 8x8 page so much that I might submit it to an SU! art contest. If you like what you see here you might want to come to my 8 for 8 class on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. We will be using the Butterfly die quite a bit as well as others. You get to make 8 projects for only $8.00, that's even cheaper than Hallmark!

One more thing: I (and a few demo friends) are lucky enough to attend a Stamp-a-stack class taught by THE Patty Bennett. She is actually giving us a PRIVATE class, and if you would like to join us the cost is $18.00 and the class will be held on Saturday, April 4th @ 6pm in Hercules (Bay Area). We will be leaving the Modesto area at about 3pm, meeting Patty for dinner at 5pm and then on to class. She must receive your registration fee by March 21st, so contact me for more info. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, because she is an awesome demonstrator as well as nationally recognized. It is a privilage and honor to be offered a private class with her, so let me know if you would like to come with us!

Stamp Club Project #1

Hi friends! Here is one of the projects from my stamp club meeting today. It features the Fifth Avenue Floral Embossing Folder that was just released on March 1st. I love this embossing folder. This card was super easy. I just stamped the Basic Gray Card with "Bella Toile" BG stamp in Basic Gray and cut my Pirouette Pink piece the same size as the actual card then ran it thru my BigShot. I trimmed away the excess on the bottom so the background would show. I sponged the roses with Pretty in Pink, added some gray taffeta ribbon. I made an embellishment using the designer label and small and large oval punches. The "for you" is stamped on vellum cardstock with Basic Gray ink. I added a half pearl from the Pretties Kit and then sprinkled some dazzling diamonds on the roses. The girls loved the simplicity of this card and you can use if for a bridal shower, a wedding or even Mother's Day.
All of our cards today featured the Big Shot and I even sold one at club! I will share the other 2 projects tomorrow. We had a great meeting today. Our hostess, Amanda, earned $60.00 in free product as well as 2 hostess sets and 2 Sale-a-bration sets. Time is running out on Sale-a-bration, it ends on the last day of March, so if you would like to earn free stamps just give me a shout. Ok, gotta go now because am starving and there is a chili dog with my name on it waiting for me. Ciao!
P. S. This card was inspired by this beauty of a card made my Jan Tink! Click here:

Scenes from Ruby's Open House

Hello Stampers!
Here are a few quick peeks at Ruby's Open House from last Friday Night. She had about 18 people show up and we had a lot of fun. It was like a mini stamp camp! Check out the pretty napkins that Tia stamped with "Fifth Avenue Floral"!
The trendy trees card was what I taught to her guests and here is a small display board I made for it.

These pencil toppers were made with the daisy die for the Big Shot. I didn't even have to add anything to get them to stick, the fit perfectly on the pencils! We stuck them in flower pots and used them as centerpieces for each project table. The little peppermint patties were also stamped for Ruby by Tia. She did "Trendy Trees", "Tart & Tangy" and "Just Buzzin By". Each one matched the project for that table. This pic was from my project table.
What do you think about this cake? We had to get this because the project that Ruby demo'd featured "Just Buzzin' By" and so did her favors. Tia and I found it at Save Mart and thought it would be perfect for the open house.
I will have pics of Ruby's bee card as well as the card that Tia demo'd. She did a 6x6 recipe card for cherry cake. We will turn her into a demo yet!
BTW, if you are one of my friends or customers and live nearby, our group of friends is having our quarterly recipe swap night. We swap 6x6 recipe pages for our cookbooks and we also bring the prepared recipe that is featured so we can sample each other's dishes. We have done this a few times now and it has turned out really nice. I have already filled up my cookbook and am starting another with all of the recipes that I have collected from just 3 meetings. It's just a fun girls night out for all of us and you are welcome to join if you are in the area. Our theme this time is "Easy Appetizers". I don't know about you but I can make a whole meal from appetizers, so this is a good one for me. We will meet at Tia's on Saturday, April 25th at 6:30 so let me know if you want to join the fun!

A gift for Linda and a Challenge!

So here is the gift that I made to include in my friend, Linda's goody package. I used the Top Note die with our chipboard sheets (cuts very easy, by the way) and our new "Parisian Breeze" Textured Cardweight DSP. I accented with butterflies that were die cut with the "Beautiful Butterflies" die, various punched items, Stylized Very Vanilla Hardware, Felt Fusion Flowers, and Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Naturals White CS and some words stamped with "Define Your Life" and "Live Like you Mean it" (this one is a retired hostess set). I sponged the edges with Close To Cocoa ink and glittered up some of the images. I used so many supplies that it would take forever to list them all, but if you would like to duplicate this projects I would be happy to email you a list.
So Linda recieved her package and loved her gift. I also added a bunch of papercraft accesories, a mixed CD of 70's songs to stamp by, and some yummy chocolate treats!
This project also fulfills the challenge over at Diva Coffee Break Designs for this week. Check out the DCBD blog for more great ideas:
http://divacoffeebreakdesigns.blogspot.com/. I really like their challenges and I will try to participate and share as many as my busy life allows. Happy Thursday!

Presents from my stampin' buddy, Linda!

Hello stampers! Look what I got! I recently joined a Yahoo User Group for stampers and signed up for a gift exchange program. I was paired up with a great gal from South Carolina named Linda. We got to know each other (via email) during February and then we made each other a gift, packaged it up with a bunch of other goodies and sent them out. This is what I received in the mail from her. How cute is this tote bag? It will be perfect to carry my swaps around at convention. Inside the bag was a ton of stamping and crafting stuff, as pictured above as well as a catalog for the Angel Company, for which Linda is a demonstrator. It is always fun to check out products from other companies. I especially loved the glitter assortment and the build-a-brad kit (it was in a color that I do not have)! She was even kind enough to include instructions on how to make more totes. I really enjoyed getting to know Linda and I will definitely stay in touch with her. Tomorrow I will share what I made for her. Gotta go catch American Idol now!

Occasions Mini Catalog Preview

Hello Stampers!
I received my box of goodies from the upcoming Spring Occasions Mini Catalog and this is the first card that I made. It features new rubber, DSP and accessories. The stamp set is called "Great Friend" and includes one of my favorite elements, a butterfly. It also includes this cute little phrase as well as well as another word and 2 more images. The DSP is also new. It is called a "Walk in the Park" and is perfect for spring. If you notice, the corduroy button in the center of my daisy is Baja Breeze, which is exclusive to the upcoming mini as well. The Whisper White Organza ribbon (just used on the bow) will also be featured. If you are a current customer of mine, you should receive the Mini Catalog in your mailbox sometime beginning mid-March. It is 23 pages of sheer beauty and it was really hard for me to narrow down my order to $200.00 but I gotta save some of my stampin' money for convention in August. Woo-hoo! There are a few Easter items that are available from this catalog now, click here to see them:
Supplies used: "Great Friend" Stamp Set, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray and Whisper White CS. Baja Breeze & Basic Gray Classic Stamp Pads, A Walk in the Park DSP, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Daisy Die for Big Shot, Baja Breeze Corduroy Button, Crystal Effects (drops on leaves)

Beautiful Butterflies Link

Hi stampers! What a beautiful Sunday it is, the sun is shining and I will be stamping like crazy while doing my laundry. I love days like this, when I can throw my windows open, get some fresh air and hear my wind chimes. I will share my projects later tonight, but I wanted to share an amazing link with you. My Stampin' Up! friend, Niki, has a beautiful project on her blog. She recently celebrated her baby girl's first birthday and she created the whole theme using her Beautiful Butterflies Die from Sizzix. You have got to check this out...it is just too precious for words. http://stampinwithniki.blogspot.com/2009/03/butterfly-birthday.html. You will also want to follow her blog as she is very talented and showcases adorable projects. Check it out and leave her a comment.

Sorry I have been absent from posting, every spare moment was spent getting ready for my downline Ruby's first workshop/open house. It took place last night and was a great success. We had about 18 guests and they all had a great time. I am super tired, so I will post a couple of pics later.
