Boxes galore!

Hello stampers!
Been a few days since my last post, but here I am! The box below is the box that goes to the cards in the previous 2 posts. It is a very simple box to make and as you can see, there is a window in it to show off the cards inside.
The boxes above are ones that I made for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. This was also our stamp club project for May. This is also a super simple template to make and you can change it up to any occasion. The template came from my uplines, Kim and Bev. The butterflies were made using the "Beautiful Butterflies" Die for the Big Shot. We also made a set of matching cards to go inside of it. I will share those in the next post. These boxes are awesome projects and I will be posting some more samples using our Textured DSP.

Summer Love Window Cards

Here are a couple more cards from the Summer Love Window Box & Card class. Tomorrow I will showcase the box.

Window cards

Hello stampers!
Happy Father's Day!
(Who am I kidding, there are no dudes looking at this blog...LOL)
Here are a couple of cards made from a class that I offered in May. These were from the Summer Love Window Card & Box Class. This was a class that was provided to all SU! demos via the SU! demo site. A wonderful demonstrator by the name of Betty Traciak shared this idea with us and it was a really great way to use the Summer Love Rub-ons that are in the current Occasions Mini Catalog as well as "A Walk in the Park " Designer Series Paper. The rub-ons fit perfectly inside the windows punched with many of our most popular punches. The class included a cute little window box and 5 cards and envelopes that go inside. I will share the other cards and the box in my next post. Gotta get ready for a BBQ now, enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Recent Stamp Camp Projects

Hello stampers!
Happy Wednesday! Only 2 days left until the weekend and I am ready! Here are a few cards that were projects from our Spring Stamp-arama Stamp Camp in Modesto in early May. We had a great turnout and awesome projects! The one above was demonstrated by my good friend, Beverlee. She is such a talented lady and an awesome upline to have. I don't own this stamp set, but her card makes me want to get it. It is called "Out on a Limb" and it is just so darn cute! The tree comes with so many cute little elements, like a bird, butterflies and a cute little tire swing. I love how the Top Note Die Cut is off center and the textured Kiwi Kiss Background. I hope this stamp appears on the dormant list because it is not in the new cattty! Also used on the card were the scalloped oval punch and "Oval All" stamp set.
This card was made by my BFF and 1st ever recruit, Miss Ruby Johnson. I loved this card so much that I featured it at my workshop in May. Our stamp campers LOVED this card, it got great comments and scores on the exit survey they we give to our guests. I think they really liked seeing a project with bright colors. The layout on this card is so cool, because it is universal. Just switch out the colors and stamps and you get a whole new look. I will share more on that later in the week. This card features, "Just Beachy", which is a stamp set from the current mini catalog, but is not in the upcoming catty. Hopefully, it will be on the dormant list as well, because I just love it. Ruby used the blender pens and ink pads to watercolor those fish to match the "Washington Apple" DSP (bye, bye...sniff,sniff). She made a very cool embellishment using the small oval punch and brads. I cannot say enough about what a good investment a punch is....the amount of embellishments that you can create is endless! No need to buy a bunch of stuff from your local craft store, you can create your own from your Stampin' Up! punches and card stock! Hope you like the cards and I will catch you later!
Gotta go finish my MISS June Swaps. I will share in a few days, when they have reached their destinations!

Hello Great Friend, goodbye Kiwi Kiss...

Hello stampers!
Here is a card I created a little while back for our last stamp camp. I chose to feature the reverse masking technique on this card because I feel a little bit like we sometimes get away from learning new techniqes, now that we have the Big Shot, which creates so many awesome projects! I have featured this technique before at my stamp club, but thought that maybe there were a few people out there that had not done it yet, and I was right. There were some stamp campers that were new or had never learned this technique, so they were happy to learn something new. I designed the card, but my upline Kim demo'd the project at camp, and her card featured a little bit of a softer color palette. I saw the Regal Rose/Kiwi Kiss color combo at a class at Patty Bennett's house and I really liked it for summer. I will be sad to see Kiwi Kiss go, but I am very happy that the "Great Friend" stamp set is in the upcoming catalog! Yay!
You can find an awesome tutorial (by Beate Johns) for reverse masking here:

You can incorporate your Big Shot by using different shaped maskes like I did for this card:

I used the scalloped oval die for the Big shot and then just sponged inside the oval.

Stamp Club Cards

Hello Stampers!

Here are a few cards from yesterday's Stamp Tramp meeting. I showed the girls the "Floating Re-inker" water color technique and they were a little hesitant at first, but when they saw how easy it was, they loved it. I gave them options on their colors, so they changed up their flowers a bit from my sample. The card above was made by Brenda and I think it came out beautiful. The card below was my sample and I like Brenda's so much better! Her lavender flowers have a very soft, delicate look to them. My flowers and color combo was a bit bright, but I was trying to work outside of my comfort zone...LOL! You can find an excellent video and tutorial on my friend, Patty Bennett's blog here: http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2009/04/watercolor-roses-technique-and-video-tutorial.html

I thought I took more pictures of the other girls' cards but I guess I didn't, darn it. I wanted to feature Diane's and Amelia's cards, because they were different and pretty as well.

The card below we made in honor of Father's Day and my dad's birthday in June. I gave the girl's the option of making it for either Father's Day or birthday. We used retiring In-Colors, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point Blue. The DSP is Good Morning Sunshine (retiring as well) and the birthday words are from the set "On Your Birthday" (not retiring - yay!) We ran the blue piece through the Big Shot using the Wood Grain texturz plate to match the cute litte Woody from the "Just Beachy" Set. We added a mini library clip to complete the look. I know my dad will love this card and Sandra's hubby is a surfer, so he will too!

Went to dinner with my downline after club and had a great time. Love my girls, Ruby and Diane! We went over the new catalog and talked about some upcoming events. I can't wait for you all to see the awesome new catty! There are so many great products in there, but I think the project layouts are the best I've seen so far. What I really like about the SU! catalog is that it is an IDEA BOOK as well, over 208 pages of awesome cards, layouts, gift and home decor items. If you haven't reserved your copy today, contact me soon to do so!

I love how vibrant they are and even better.......

I can't tell you how many times I have been asked "Why aren't there markers to match the In-Colors?" I am so happy that SU! decided to answer our prayers and make them for us.

Check out this ribbon! It is hard to see in this picture, but this year's In-Color Ribbon is polka dotted! That was another request made by many demonstrators and customers. I am so glad I work for a company that listens to their followers!

So all of these items, and many more will be available on July 1st, when the new catalog debuts! I have my catalog already, and I can tell you that you will be so pleased by all of the new products, darker print and gorgeous layout of the catalog. I think it is my favorite one so far!

Final recipe swap

Hello Stampers!
Here is our final recipe swap and it is from Kindra! She made a delicious pasta salad that everyone enjoyed and she used her new Big Shot to creat her adorable page. The focal point of the page is the Top Note where Kindra mounted her recipe. You can also see the leaves she made using our "Little Leaves" Sizzlit Die. Her color combo is very summary looking and her recipe was very tasty. Great job Kindra!

More recipe swaps from sisters!

Hello Stampers!

Here are 2 more recipe swaps from another set of sisters in our group. These 2 gals are a couple of my oldest and dearest friends. They are my Portuguese sisters and were also my very first customers as well! Sandra made her yummy lemon bars and Amelia concocted this awesome fruity punch that we just could not stop drinking (and it wasn't even spiked)! Amelia featured the Texturz Plates on her swap and Sandra showcased one of our most popular new punches, the Eyelet Border. Don't those swaps look bright and summery? These 2 recipes are perfect for your next summer get together. Great job Sister-friends!

Bon noit! (That means good night in Portuguese!)

Don't forget the Last Chance List was released today. This list was formerly known as the retired product list and has some really great deals listed. Click on the link at the right to view for yourself!
