A wonderful day...

I have no pictures to post tonight, only words. I am too tired to pull the memory card from my camera and put it into my pc to transfer my pics. I will share those tomorrow. Tonight I am tired, but it is a good tired. My beautiful group of stamping friends joined me for an afternoon of making cards for the Northern California Ronald McDonald House. We gathered at the Community Event Center in the Raley's Super Market near my house and made cards for the families that need them and some cards for ourselves. Everyone had a great time and it was a great cause and my heart is full and happy. My best friend Ruby and I prepared our materials very late last night and very early this morning, because we have both had very long and busy weeks. Not the best way to plan an event, but we got it done and it was so worth it. I want to thank her for taking time away from her family and as always being the best teammate that I can ask for. Love ya, Ruby! Many thanks to my downline Diane for helping us set up. You girls are the best!

And as silly as it seems, I also want to thank the lady in front of me in line at Raley's today. I had just loaded up everything in my car and ran back into the store to visit the deli and pick up one of their tasty sandwiches, as I did not have time to grab one before our event. I had 3 items in my hand and the lines were terribly long, but the kind woman in front of me insisted that I go before her as she had a huge load in her cart. Bless her, she must have seen the tired expression on my face, (and my sweaty forehead from packing up my stuff and schlepping it to the car in the heat). Her kindness made my day, and if I had not already packed up all of my pretty cards, I would have given her one. I could not thank her enough.

I also want to thank the bagger at Raley's (one of my favorites, as I shop there all the time). He saw me schlepping my load to the car and stopped to help me load my Big Shot Bag, my display board, all of my supplies and whatever else I had in the shopping cart (none of it was groceries, by the way). He asked me if I had held a class there earlier and I told him about it and the classroom was very nice and perfect for our gatherings. He thanked me for having it there and then whisked away my empty shopping cart so I would not have to walk it over to the cart corral. This might not seem like much, but for an almost 41 year old, out of shape woman in the midst of hot flashes in 100 degree weather, saving me those extra 100 steps made me want to grab him and kiss him! The kindness of these 2 people, in their small and simple ways, added to the warm feeling I already had in my heart. I loaded myself (and my sandwich) into my car, drove the 3 blocks home and enjoyed my lovely turkey and avocado on French in the coolness of my house, filled with 3 dogs, 2 daughters, my very patient husband and a wandering pet frog (that escaped it's tank the day before). After that I read a magazine, took a cat nap and chilled with my 10 year old video game addicted daughter. It was a wonderful day....

Hello friends!

I thought I would share come cards with you today. These are some of the swaps that I made for convention. Please excuse the not so great pics. I snapped these the night before I left, it was very late, so I had no natural light. I also had a Razzleberry Butterfly card that I shared in a previous post. Anyway, the card with the Bermuda Bay/Soft Suede/Dusty Durango combo was a huge hit. I think it was the unusual color combination, but I ran out of these first and then I ran out of the card with the Melon Mambo Flower Folds Die. I had 100 swaps total and was out by the 2nd day and did not even get to swap with everyone that I wanted to, so next year I will make 200 (better start now...LOL!). Anyway, I am too tired tonight to list the supplies, so if you have questions, just email me. I have some projects that I need to work on so I am outta here. Goodnight, Stampers!

Goodies for you!

How cool are these goodies? Pretty cool! Some of these I picked up at Memento Mall when I was at convention and are available only to demonstrators. But you can get yours this week!

The close of August is coming fast and I would like to meet my sales goal for the month so I am offering a little something special to my stamping friends:

If you place a $30.00 order directly with me you will get to choose ONE of these cute little items as a gift!

If you place a $50.00 order directly with me you can choose TWO of these items as your gift!

If you place an order with me that is $75.00 or above you will then get to choose THREE of these items!

Love these nail files! They match our Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper and Accessory Line. Some of which are the Gusseted Envelopes that are pictured at the top of this post. Or how about one of our Stampin' Up! pens, decorated in some of our hottest colors! My personal favorite, however, is our brand new shopping bags. They match our Circle Circus stamp set and are in cheery colors! They are very roomy and great for taking your supplies with you to workshops, clubs or classes. They are large enough to hold your 12x12 projects as well.

Wouldn't you like to have your order delivered to you in one of these!

Just email your order to me by the 30th and claim your goodies!

(Offer not available on online orders)

Offer expires August 30, 2009

CASE-ing the catalog AND a Contest!

Here is a card from the Stampin' Up! catalog. Pretty cute, right? Well look below and see what I did with the idea?

Do you know that your Stampin' Up! Catalog is NOT just a catalog? It is also an idea book with many great ideas to CASE (copy and share everything) or get inspiration from. I took the card from page 126 and changed up the colors and textures to make this Tart and Tangy birthday card. Don't these colors remind you of your mom's kitchen during the 70's? Remember the Corelle dinnerware that had the little olive colored flowers around the edges? My mom had that set and this card totally reminds me of it.
So what do you think of that? I think it is a nice improvement, don't you?
Now, if you pick a card or project from the new catalog and case it exactly or make it your own and send it to me, I will post it on my blog and have my readers vote for their favorite card. I will keep this contest open for 30 days and the winner will receive a free pack of cardstock in their favorite color!
Make sure all products used are Stampin' Up!
So have a little fun, add a little of your own flair and get busy CASE-ing that project!
Leave a comment if you would like to enter the contest and I will send you my mailing address!

Back from convention & a Ribbon Share

Hi Stampers!
I am finally back and am I exhausted. My first SU! convention was awesome and overwhelming. I need to regroup so I can get organized and share with you all. I need to touch base with my 2 new recruits to get them going and then I will upload some images from convention! Woo-hoo!

Until then, here is an announcement about my riboon share:

2009-2010
In-Color Ribbon Share

Get 2.5 yards of each color for a total of 15 yards of ribbon.
$11.85
(Shipping and tax already included)

This is a great way to get enough ribbon to make several cards and not have to spend a lot of money in order to have each color.

A perfect idea if you are a new demonstrator and received the In-Color Mini Demo Kit; the ribbon coordinates with everything in your kit!

There are 6 available spots in the share.
Contact me to reserve your spot today!

Hostess Gifts

Hello Stampers!
Here is another hostess gift that I made for my Hostess Appreciation Night! It is a post it note holder and I thought it would be perfect for the new catty, since a lot of the girls like to mark pages with post it notes. I found these awesome matching pens at Target. They are in Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry, perfect to coordinate with our Cottage Wall DSP of the same colors!

Can you believe it? In less than 36 hours I leave for convention in Salt Lake City! I am super excited and super stressed at the same time. I have been spending every spare minute working on swaps, roommate gifts and preparing for my trip. I can't wait to get back and share everything with all of you!

I also want to give a warm welcome to the 2 wonderful ladies that joined my team this past week: Barbara and Beverly! You are going to love Stampin' Up! I can't wait to show you the ropes.

Well, I need to finish up my swaps and then head to bed. You probably won't see a new post until Sunday, when I return from convention. If I take some pics with my Blackberry I will post those for you during the week, but probably not a lot of words (kind of hard to type on a Blackberry).

Happy Stampin'!
