Spring Mini Catalog Sneak Peek!

Hello friends!
Just wanted to let you know that if you are on my mailing list to receive the Spring Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration Catalog, I have some bad news.....there has been a delay with the SU! mailing program, so they might not arrive in your mailbox before the start date of January 5th.  The good news is: SU! has released the online version a few days early so you can get a good look of all the new goodies!  Here is the link to the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog:

I will post the link to the SAB Catalog just as soon as it is available.

Coming January 5th! Simply Adorned...

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! We designed our Simply Adorned charms to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.
Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don't forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you'll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.
And although we designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you're done!

I cannot wait to get mine and when I do I will be putting together a class to make inserts for your charms!  I am also excited to announce that we will be carrying charm bracelets as well and 2 new charms to go with them.  Watch for a future announcement on my blog with class details!

Another yummy blog for you food lovers!

Okay, since I am a loser that has no projects to share with you today, I will lead you to another awesome blog find.  This blog is called Bakerella and you can find it here.  Her blog is about all things sweet: cupcakes, cakes, cookies, candy, cheesecake.  And it is all so pretty to look at as well.  I mean, look at this picture!  How amazing are these things?  I just cannot get over how many talented chick blogs are out there!  So I have decided that whenever I come across a new one, I will spread the joy.  So head on over to Bakerella and check out her goodies!

You Rock!

Here is another card that I made for the shop a few months ago and snapped with my Blackberry.  I love this stamp, Extreme Guitar, it reminds me of Jon Bon Jovi (I think it is the hair). I also used the Extreme Elements stamp set and some leftover Halloween DSP and the words"You Rock" from the Just Jawing stamp set. I used a little of my retired Hodgpodge Hardware and some Eggplant and Orange Ribbon.

Mac & Cheese and the Pioneer Woman!

Apparently I am the last person on earth to know about the
 PIONEER WOMAN!
Look at this Mac & Cheese!
This ain't that powdered Kraft stuff in the box.
This is serious comfort food.
I mean, serious, with lots of butter, cream and cheese.
Go to her blog:

Why didn't I know about her sooner?
I would have put her cookbook on my Christmas list.
Check her out.
Tell me what you think.
Try not to drool on your keyboard as you look at her recipes.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Card

Here is a card that I cased from Krystal's blog.  I changed the greeting, DSP and punches, but I love the way it came out.  The color combo is Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive and Whisper White.  I used the "Delightful Decorations" Stamp Set and matching punch.  The words are from the "Grateful Greetings"stamp set and the DSP is Christmas Cocoa and Old Olive Patterns.  Notice the half pearls from the Pretties Kit, I love how they add just the right amount of bling to the card.
Well, I probably won't be posting over the next couple of days, because I am hosting Christmas Eve for my family and then we go to Brandon's parents for Christmas Day.  I still have some cooking and house cleaning to do, so I am not quite ready, but almost.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday and all of your Christmas wishes come true!

Chic Boutique for Unique Boutiqes

Hello friends, sorry about the quality of the picture.  I took this with my Blackberry and it wasn't the greatest, but I forgot to take a picture with my real camera before I took this card to the shop.  I used the "Chic Boutique" stamp set, which is one of my favorites, as well as the Top Note Die and Buttons Sizzlet for the Big Shot.  The DSP is retired, from a Level 3 Hostess Bundle from the last catalog, but I loved the colors so much I had to use it.  The great thing about designing and selling cards for the shop is it gives me the chance to used up my retired stuff that I cannot demo anymore.  I do have tons of retired stamp sets, DSP, ribbon and accessories that I will be sellling, so I will post it on my blog with a price and the first to leave a comment and claim it will get to buy it.  I really don't have the time (or energy) to do the eBay thing, and I would rather my customers and readers get the deals than some stranger across the country.  I will call my sales "Julie's Bargain Basement" and when you see a post with that title, that means that day is sale day.

Yet another bag...

No words today, just a picture.
Not feeling well.

Loving my Snowflake #2 die!

Here is yet another gift bag I recently made (are you sick of them yet...lol?).  I am getting a lot of use out of my Snowflake #2 die for the Big Shot.  I used some retired Xmas DSP from last year to cover my bag. This one is called Wintergreen  I have a TON of this stuff, some packages never opened, so if anyone is interested, let me know.  I am selling the unopened packages for $5.00 each, which is half pricel!  I do love the colors in it, they go very well with the snowflake theme.  Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Always Arichoke and Whisper White.

Ruby's cute Santa bag!

Here is a bag that Ruby whipped up for our display at Unique Boutiques.  Isn't it cute?  You can find this bag and many others as well as cards for every occasion at Unique Boutiques, all hand made by yours truly and my bud, Ruby!

Imprints Meeting Project

This is one of the projects that Beverlee had us make at our last Imprints Downline Meeting.  I love this card!  The flowers as well as the leaves are punched with the 5 Petal Punch and then folded back and adhered to the card with SNAIL.  I love how this technique gives the card a window effect.  The striped piece is our gorgeous "Bride" Specialty Paper  and the flower image and words are from the "Sock Monkey" stamp set.  Who knew you could make such a feminine card with stamps from "Sock Monkey"?  The pearl is from the Pretties Kit and the clip is one of our Library Clips.  The color combo is: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss and Whisper White. One of my demo friends, Angie, changed her petals to red and made a very festive looking Poinsettia Card.  Isn't it great that SU products are so versatile?  Thanks so much, Bev, for sharing this gorgeous card with your downline.  It was fun to make!  You can check out more of Beverlee's fantastic work  here.

I stayed home today with my sick daughter and thought that I might get some stamping done (like my Christmas cards, maybe?) but I didn't get the chance because she wanted to cuddle all day and how can I pass up an opportunity like that?  Anyway, she must be feeling better this evening, because she is getting back to her mischevious self, which is good, I guess...lol!

Also, because my Think PINK class in January is filling up so fast I am going to add a few more spots, so if you are interested in attending, make sure you go to the meetup site and RSVP soon.  The link is in the upper right hand corner of this blog page.  The class will feature some of the new Spring Mini and Sale-a-bration products so you won't want to miss it!  Especially if you like GIRLY cards!

Another Holiday Splendor Project

Hello stampers!  Here is my other project from our recent "Holiday Splendor" event.  The technique on this card is called "faux paper tearing" and I cased this fabulous card from De Stampin' Corner.  The part that looks like torn paper is actually stamped and sponged on the same piece of blank Whisper White card stock that makes up the other half of the card.  You just mask of the part that you want to keep white.  It was really very simple and I love the effect that it produces.  This card features the "Delightful Decorations" stamp set and the "En Francais" Background Stamp.  The color combo is Real Red, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip.  Hope you like it!

Late Night Stampers now has a Blog Finds blog!

I belong to an awesome Yahoo group called LateNightStampers and we are so fortunate to have a wonderful member by the name of Kelly Mayou that patrols the stamping web and shares her wonderful finds. I am very honored to have appeared on the list twice this week for my gift bags.  Kelly posts her finds daily on the group site, but she just started up a blog that features her daily finds.  You can check it out here: LateNite Stampers Blog Find of the Day Blog.  You will definitely want to bookmark this blog!

Soft Suede Gift Bag

Here is another gift bag that I made for the shop.  I used the Kind Thoughts Decor Element Wall Stencil again, this time sponging on Soft Suede Ink.  I love the way it turned out.  If you are coming to my stamp club gathering on Saturday, you will be making a bag very similar to this along with 2 other projects just in time for gift giving. No class fee, just a minimum order of $25.00 and the projects are FREE!  Just let me know if you are coming.  Hope you can join us!

A Bella Bleu Christmas

Hello my friends,
Here is a Christmas card that I made for my display board at our last Stamp Camp in Tracy.  The color combo is Kraft, Not Quite Navy, and Very Vanilla.  This card features scallop squares punched from one of my favorite Designer Series Papers, Bella Bleu.  These papers are very elegant and shabby chic at the same time but what I like about them is they can be used for Christmas as well as everyday.  Have a look below.

Some exciting stamping news....

Hello friends!
Today was an interesting day in my stamping world.  I found out from my good demo friend Kathy this morning that my card was featured on the Stampin' Up! Stamper's Showcase today.  That is so cool!  This is the card and it was one of the swaps that I designed for convention. This was a favorite among my fellow swappers and I ran out of them very quickly.  I did save one to put in the basket for Stampin' Up! publications. They must have liked it because they posted it today, which was an honor.  Unfortunately, Stamper's Showcase is for demonstrators only, so all of my non-demo friends cannot view the site, but I put it here so you could see it.

Another exciting thing that happened today was the mention that I received on Patty Bennett's blog.  She had seen one of my projects on my blog a few months ago and wanted to directions on how to make it.  Well, I just made the project for her and included the instructions and she asked if she could teach it for a class, which I thought was very nice of her.  She had the class and the project is featured on her blog today.  She did change up the Designer Series Paper because the one that I used on my original project has since retired, but her version is just as nice.  You can view my original project here:

I cannot take full credit for the design of the project as my upline Kim actually shared with me the template for the card holder, but I took it and made it my own by changing up the style a bit and adding my own colors, designer series paper and cards inside.  This was a very popular projects among my friends and I am thinking of offering it as a class, with a different color scheme and pattern of course!  Anyway, you can check out Patty's version of it on her blog, right here:

And finally, I am proud to say that I was also featured on the SU LateNiteStampers Yahoo group yesterday.  My post featuring my gifts bags a couple of days ago was chosen for one of the Blog Finds of the Day for Monday.    You can scroll down a post or two to view those.  So this week has gotten of to a great start in regards to my stamping life, now if only the other parts of my life would catch up...lol!

Imprints Downline Swap

This was my swap for the Imprints Downline Meeting at Beverlee's on November 7th.  Our theme was LOVE, but I didn't want to do the whole Valentine's red thing, so I pulled out the words stamp from "Dreams du Jour" which is kind of a generic love sentiment, so this card could be used for weddings, anniversaries, Valentine's Day or just because.  The images are from the "Charming" stamp set which is currently featured in our Holiday Mini Catalog.  My color combo is Soft Sage, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White.  I added some Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and then embossed my heart with the Finial Press Embossing folder for the Big Shot.  This is probably one of my cleaner, simpler cards, but I like it a lot.  I received a lot of beautiful swaps at our meeting and I will post them in the upcoming weeks.

How about some more bags?

Here are a couple more bags I made.  Are you tired of them yet?  I was on a roll when I was making them and I really hate mass producing, so I only made about 2 of each kind and then would move on to another design.  Anyway, these two feature our "Christmas Cocoa" Designer Series Paper as well as our "Delightful Decorations" Stamp Set.  These bags are 5" x 7" and are perfect for smaller gifts like maybe candles, a journal, cd or a stamp set. Remember to make out your Christmas Wish List with all of your Stampin' Up! wants and pass it along to your hubby, mom, sister or whomever needs a gift idea for you.  They can order up until December 15th and still have it in time for you for Christmas.  I will even wrap it up for them and attach a tag as well, at no extra charge.  I might even put it into one of these bags!

More handmade gift bags

Here are some more gift bags that I made for the Black Saturday Holiday Faire that Ruby and I participated in last week. The bags that were left over were taken to Unique Boutiqes and added to our bag display there. The bag above features some retired DSP from last year called "Wintergreen" but I still have 3 packages left so I thought I had better use it up. I used a cool technique that Beverlee taught us at our last downline meeting. It involves Chunky Glitter and really adds "bling" to your projects and it is so unbelievably easy! If you are coming to the Stamp Tramp Gathering next Saturday you will get to learn this technique.

This is a bag I shared a couple of days ago, but this is a different picture that shows a little more detail. I love the look of this bag.
This last bag is one of my favorites. I just love all of the colors in it. I used the Snowflake #2 die for the Big Shot to cut the snowflakes for this bag as well as the first one. I used the Jumbo Snowflake Punch to cut the smaller one. I stamped snowflakes in Soft Suede using the "Serene Snowflakes" stamp set. Hope you liked the projects today!

Target Inspired Card

Target Card

My card
So here is a card inspired by a card that I saw in Target. You know how Target always has a whole aisle of boxed Christmas cards for the holidays? Well, I was there with a friend looking at them and realized that an entire 5 foot section of this aisle was dedicated to cards that were supposed to look handmade. Now don't get me wrong, they looked nice, but you could tell they were made in a factory. Now why would you buy a box of cards that are supposed to LOOK handmade when you can just make them yourself? So I snapped a picture of the card with my Blackberry phone (so sorry for the blurriness) and I went home and recreated it the Stampin' Up! way, which of course made it look better....lol! I liked the fact that the colors were non-traditional. What do you think? I used Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral and Whisper White. The background was stamped using our Bella Toile Background Stamp and the ornament was stamped with our Delightful Decorations set and punched with the Ornament Punch. The words are from the Level 1 Hostess Set called Holiday Best and they were punched with the Large Oval Punch and mounted on a piece punched with the Scallop Oval Punch. I punched the corners of the the two main pieces using the Ticket Corner Punch and added a little bow with Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon and as always, some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I liked the card so much that I used it in one of my holiday card classes. What do you think?

Friends 24~7 bag

Here is another bag that I created for the shop and a holiday boutique that Ruby and I did last week. I used one of our Decor Elements Wall Stencils - Kind Thoughts - and Platinum Shimmer Paint on the front of the bag and then used the stamps from "Friends 24~7" to create the matching tag in Pink Pirouette and Brushed Silver. I love the Shabby Chic-ness of this bag, don't you? I got the idea of using the stencil and shimmer paint from one of my upline, Beverlee, who always comes up with great ways to utilize our products. Thanks for sharing this awesome idea, Bev, you rock!

2 More Holiday Splendor Projects

These 2 lovely projects were made by my friend and newest team member, Shelley. I absolutely love the ornament and it made me purchase the snowflake die for myself. Right now I have Shelley's on loan, but mine arrives tomorrow night, woohoo! I love the color combo of these 2 projects and I think she did an awesome job for her first event! I love the flocked paper on the card, just one of the designs in our "Christmas Cocoa" Designer series paper. This paper is available for a limited time, only until January 4th, so if you haven't bought any yet you need to get it soon. I will share more projects from our Holiday Splendor event so stay tuned!

If you would like to come to our next "Splendor" event, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 27th. We will showcase all of the awesome new spring items that will be available in our Spring Mini Catalog as well as our 2010 Sale-a-bration catalog.

It's Dasher!

Here is one of our top selling stamps this year: Dasher. I made this card for my Just Cards ~ Express Holiday Class that I held back in October. I added the Christmas Cocoa DSP, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Real Red Polka Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon. The words are from "Grateful Greetings" which is one of our newer multi-Holiday word sets. I love the color combo of this card: Real Red, Soft Suede and Whisper white. This card just makes me happy!

"Holiday Splendor" Project

This is a project that was on display at Convention in Utah this past August and I wish that I knew who the original artist was so I could give her proper credit. I did switch out the blue that they used for the Night of Navy Blue for more contrast and I ran my Close to Cocoa background piece through the Big Shot using the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, just to add a little texture. This card can be used as a gift card or money holder. This was one of the projects that I demonstrated at our Holiday Splendor event a couple of Saturdays ago. I will share the other one later.
