Lovely as a tree...

Here is a card that I designed for my recent Simply Beautiful Christmas card class.  I will always love Lovely as a Tree....this stamp set is just timeless and can be used for many occasions, not just Christmas, but I love how each year I can find a new way to use it at Christmas.  This time I gave it a new look by stamping over the tree with the En Francais BG stamp, using Crumb Cake ink.  I gave it a woodsy look by embossing a piece of Early Espresso Coredinations with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and then sanding it down. I added some Crumb Cake Tafetta Ribbon and an Antique Brad.  I spritzed it all with some homemade shimmer mist using our Champagne Shimmer paint and alcohol, I just can't live without that stuff!

This card was a favorite at the class and I also made a bunch for each of my shops!

Until next time ~

I just love this stamp set, Snowflake Soiree! It makes the most elegant Christmas cards.  I used it to create this card for my recent Simply Beautiful Christmas card class.  This was a super easy card to make so it was perfect to re-create for Christmas cards.  The color combo is Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Natural Ivory (the card stock that I used for the base).  Don't you just love the pearls in the centers of the snowflakes?

Until next time ~

Hostess Appreciation Project

Last Saturday afternoon I hosted my monthly stamp club meeting and it just happened to be Hostess Appreciation month as well.  So, I decided to design a special project just for my ladies.  I stocked up on our Kraft gift boxes during the Online Extravaganza in November and decided to design some 3x3 Xmas notes for inside.  Most of them feature the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper and here is what they look like:

And here is the box, which I covered with different patterns of the same paper:

The ladies loved the box and the cards inside and congratulations to Alejandra, who won the Mystery Hostess drawing!

Until next time ~

What I've been up to......

Sooooo......here is the reason why I have not been posting much lately......

In addition to my Stampin' Up! business I have started a new adventure: Origami Owl!  I fell in love with these amazing lockets back in August when I saw them at a craft fair that I was selling at....let me tell you...not many paper goods were moving that day, but these lockets were flying out the door!

I wandered over to the Origami Owl table and met the fabulous Misty Brandow, who would soon become my upline, picked out the goodies for my very own locket and then went back to my booth.  After watching the continuous line of customers walk away from her booth with their own lockets, I decided to do a little investigating.  I asked Misty to tell me about the Origami Owl career plan and more about the company.  When I found out how generous the pay plan was and how this adorable jewelry company was started by 14 year old Bella Weems, I was hooked.  I then learned that these lockets were in such demand that there was a waiting list to sign up to become a designer!  So the very next morning I got on that list (#10033) and after waiting nearly 2 months my number was called in late October.  I have been swamped ever since.  One of my very good friends, Gerry, signed up under me the day after I signed up and we have been busy little bees (or should I say OWLS) since day one!  My little business has taken off like crazy and I still have not even had my very own launch party because I have been so busy keeping up with the parties, vendor events and orders coming in.  So if you are looking for a unique gift for that someone special or wanna have a really fun party with freebies, contact me for a catalog and more info!

Go to my FB page and LIKE it! Once we reach 100 likes I give away a locket!

Until next time ~

Snow Festival Christmas Gift Enclosures

I played around today with the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper today and this is what I created:

3" x 3" Gift Enclosures that fit in our small square envelopes perfectly!
The images on one of the sheets of  Snow Festival DSP are 3" x 3" so I cut them down to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and mounted them on 3" x 3" notes that I cut from a sheet of 12" x 12" Whisper White card stock.  I used the "Do not open until Christmas" circle stamp from More Merry Messages and then punched it out and mounted it on the new 1 1/4" circle scallop punch and then added it to a few of the notes.  I used the Ghoulish Googly Eyes on the larger owl image to give him a little character and before I knew it I had 8 cute little notes to attach to my Christmas Gifts!

Hmmm......could be a project for the next Stamp Club Gathering...
Until next time ~

The Crafty Chicks of Calaveras County unite!

So yesterday was the first gathering of my new stamping group, The Crafty Chicks of Calaveras County!  The six of us gathered at my home in Angels Camp for an afternoon of getting to know each other and of course, crafting!  We had so much fun...here are a couple of the projects that we made.  There is one more project that we made, but since it is also a project for my Holiday Hoopla event next weekend, I will not share it until after that class!

Thanks so much to Sherry, Linda, Jolene, Pat & Veronica! I had a great time sharing these cards with you and can't wait to do it again next month!
Until next time ~

From the catalog....

This card is a sample that is featured in the 2012-2013 Catalog and I love how it showcases a great way to use up your scraps of ribbon and DSP.  I also love the color combo.  You know, I can pick up my catalog, flip thru it and find something new every time.  What have you found that you missed before?

Until next time ~

Exciting news....

Handcrafted With Love!!!
I was recently contacted by a reporter from the Turlock Journal/Manteca Bulletin for a story about handmade gifts.  You can read all about it HERE!

Elegant Butterflies....

....Also known as one of my September Hostess Gathering Projects.  I cased myself from a birthday card that I designed for my boss a few months ago, you can find it HERE.  I switched out my Designer Series Paper for the new Festival of Prints DSP Stack.  It is not made up of holiday prints, but of gorgeous prints that you can use for the holidays.  I punched coordinating pieces with the Postage Stamp Punch, lined them up in 2 rows on a Very Vanilla card front that was embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I then added some butterflies punched with the new Elegant Butterfly punch, which I blinged up with some adhesive pearls.  I added some luscious Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and one of the ever beautiful Antique Brads.  The color combo for this project is Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla and Basic Black.  And as a bonus I would like to share with you the card that Sumi, one of my downline, made at the Gathering.  She put her own twist on my design and I love it!!  Take a look:

Isn't it beautiful!  Sumi is sooooo talented!  I will be casing this for sure....Thanks for sharing, Sumi!

Until next time ~

A gift for our stampers

This is the gift that I created for our stampers at the Fall Back Into Stamping class that we had a few weeks ago.  I found these adorable little jars at World Market and decided they would be really cool with Werthers Candy inside and a cute hand stamped tag and hand stamped ribbon on the outside.  The ladies loved them. What do you think?

Until next time ~

Class project #3

Perfectly Preserved is the name of the stamp set used for this card.  I love this set, especially because it comes with matching framelits for every image.  Makes using it really easy.  I loved using the different strips of  Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and the different types of ribbon as well.  Makes me think of fall!

Until next time ~

Class Project #2

I love this witch's boot from the set, Bootiful Occasions!  It is so whimsical looking and I knew I had to pair it up with our Polka Dotted Scalloped Ribbon and our new Polka Dot Parade DSP. The pic is a little dark, but the color combo is Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie.  It is a very simple card to make, just a few layers of paper and ribbon, but what really makes it a WOW card is the strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and the new embossing folder that I used for the background piece, Lacy Brocade.  you can find this in our Holiday Mini Catalog.  It just added the perfect feminine element to this card.  I also used another new product from the Holiday Mini, Silver Dazzling Details.  I used it on the edges of the mini flower that I put on the boot.  It coordinated beautifully with the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Here is a look at all of the images from the stamp set, Bootiful Occasions:

"Fall" Back into Stamping! Class Project #1

I just love fall, so I was really excited to come up with a couple of fall cards for our 1st class of the holiday season.  Ruby & I gathered last Saturday night with our regular gals and had such a blast showing them cards made with new items from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  This card featured so many new items I almost lost count! Here they are:
Woodgrain Embossing Folder
Early Espresso Coredinations Paper
Sanding Block
Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper
Champage Shimmer Paper
Brushed Bronze Desinger Buttons
1 1/4" Scallop Punch
Autumn Accents Bigz Die
Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon
I brought Teeny Tiny Wishes so the girls could make the card for any occasion they desired.  I made mine for Thanksgiving, just because it was the perfect sentiment for fall.  I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder on the Coredinations Paper and then sanded it with our new Sanding Block.  It is an awesome technique.  I used the same Embossing Folder on the leaves, but instead of sanding I sponged them with Early Espress Ink to give them an aged look.
What do you think?
Until next time ~

The class fee is $19.00, go here to sign up: Meetup Group

Bring your snail (adhesive) and snips (scissors) and we provide everything else! You might also want to bring your camera to snap pics of all of the cool project ideas that will be on display at class.

Bottled water and a light snack will be provided, but if you need something more feel free to pick up your snack in the Raley's Deli or Market and bring it on back to enjoy while you stamp. All we ask is that all drinks have a lid so we don't end up with any damp projects

 See you soon!

Blooming with kindness...again!

I just love the stamp set, Blooming with Kindness.  Here is another soft looking card made with it.  I masked over the flower to sponge around it for a watercolor look.  What do you think?

August Hostess Gathering Project #3

This project features the Blooming with Kindness stamp set, one that is very universal.  I have seen so many cards for so many occasions made with this set, even masculine cards.  I decided to create a sympathy/thinking of you card because I never seem to introduce those to my stampers, not the happiest of cards to make, but unfortunately, cards that we need to send sometimes.  This is a very simple card and I think it could be altered to use as a wedding card as well.  The color combo is Very Vanilla & Pool Party.  All I did was stamp the floral image from the set on to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and then run it through my Big Shot with the brand new Delicate Designs Embossing Folder (which is a very cool design, by the way).  I then added some ribbon, my sentiment stamped on a Large Oval punched piece, mounted on a Pool Party piece punched with the Scalloped Oval punch. Topped it all of with Dazzling Diamonds and three Large Adhesive Pearls and there you have it! I plan to make many of these in different colors and occasions, they are just so darn easy!
Until next time ~

August Hostess Gathering Project #2

Here is our second project from our gathering this month.  We tried out the new Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and Window Frames Collection Framelits.  What do you think about the woodgrain background?  That was made by inking up our new woodgrain embossing folder.   You might also notice the new cotton twill ribbon as well.  I love it!  You can even stamp on it!

Well, I have been up since 4:30 this morning to go to San Ramon for work and I am beat so I will cut this short.

Until next time ~

August Hostess Gathering Project #1

Here is one of our Hostess Gathering projects for August.  This card features the following items from our World Spectacular Suite: You're Amazing Stamp Set and World Spectacular DSP.  It also features the new Pewter Ribbon Slides from the Holiday Mini Catalog which I strung along a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment and cut it out using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits. I also used the tiny ticket image from the same stamp set and punched it out with the new Ticket Duo Builder Punch.and mounted it on pieces that I punched with the one of the punches from the new Little Labels Punch Pack.  The color combo for this card is Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.

Until next time ~

Perfectly Preserved

I absolutely LOVE this set.  I love all things rustic and vintage and what screams those two words more than the mason jar.  I was so happy when Stampin' Up! announced this set.  And I LOVE that we have matching framelets for it as well!  Woohoo!  I had some leftover card kits from a few hostess gatherings ago and decided to put them to use with the new set because I think the Comfort Cafe DSP compliments this set perfectly.

What is even GREATER about this set, is that if you purchase the stamp set and the framelets together you get a savings of 15%!!.

Postage Due and some news!

I am loving the new stamp set, "Postage Due".  As you have seen in my previous post, you can use it for a fun, feminine card and you can also use it for a more masculine look, such as the card pictured above.  The color combo is Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  Love this new In Color triple stitched satin ribbon as well.

So you probably noticed that I have not been posting that often over the past few weeks.  That is because Greg and I have been getting his house in Angels Camp ready for Natalie & I to live there.  He gave me a wonderful space in his office, so I now have my very first craft room and and so excited to make it exactly what I have always wanted!  When I put the final touches on it, I will post pics!  We hope to be in permanently very soon, but I will also be keeping the rental in Turlock and traveling back and forth between Angels Camp and Turlock until the end of the year.

On another note: Ruby and I have scheduled our first class after coming back from summer break.  It will be on Saturday, September 8th and we have called it "Fall Back into Stamping".  We will be featuring fall and Halloween projects.  For more info, go here:

We will also be announcing a very special class for October, so stay tuned!
Until next time ~

Welcome to Paris!

I created this card at Simply Stampin' Day....an event where the crafty divas in my circle of friends gathered to create and hang out.  I busted out my new goodies and couldn't wait to ink up the new stamp set, "Postage Due".  I thought it would compliment the ever popular "Artistic Etchings" set and I was right!  I love the clean and simple design of this card and the color combo is fun!  Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black.  The red and white polka dotted paper is from the new Polka Dot Parade DSP and I love it!  The die cuts are 3 of the largest image in the Apothecary Accents Framelits, 2 cut in turquoise, 1 cut in white.  The postage stamps were stamped and then punched with the postage stamp punch and then popped up on dimensionals to add some detail.  I topped off the card with Basic Black Scalloped Polka Dot Ribbon, a Tempting Turquoise button from the Brights Collections and a Happy Birthday sentiment punched with the Modern Label punch and mounted on an element punched with the Scalloped Oval Punch.  I just love this card and it might be a contender for this month's hostess gathering...

Until next time ~

Butterflies for Jennifer...

Here is a card that I quickly created last month for my boss, Jennifer.  It was her 50th birthday and I wanted to make something bright and cheery so I grabbed my new Floral District DSP, Elegant Butterfly Punch and Lucky Limeade, Whisper White and Raspberry Ripple card stock.  I also punched the squares of DSP with the scalloped square punch.  I think it came out pretty cute, don't you?

Until next time ~

Papaya Collage Tag Set

This was my project at our recent Stamp Tramp Appreciation Night.  It features the new Papaya Collage Stamp Set and showcased the new 2012-2014 In Colors: Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals.  We cut the tags with the Two Tags Die and the pocket with the Petite Pocket Die.  This project is perfect as a little add on for a gift.

Until next time ~
