Welcome sign for Foothill Stampers!

Here is a sign that I created tonight for my stampers at Foothill Village Senior Community . At our last session, we made doorhangers for each of them to put on the front door of their apartments.  They loved them so much that we decided to make them for each season and holiday, so this month we are doing a fall theme.

It is made from chipboard, cardstock and burlap ribbon.  I used some retired fall paper from last year to jazz it up and punched flowers from the Blossom Punch and Pansy Punch.  The leaves are cut with the Big Shot and the Autumn Accents Die and then embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

I am also creating a batch of these for my new shop!

Until next time ~

Exciting news for the fall...

Happy Tuesday!

It is a VERY smoky day here in the Mother Lode. The RIM fire in Tuolumne County is still burning and the smoke is so awful here in Angels Camp that the high school has cancelled all after school sports today. We have been trying to stay inside so as not to be exposed to it, because it is very bad. Which means I have been crafting my fanny off!

I have some exciting to news to share! You might have seen it on my Facebook page already this morning, but I thought I would share with my blog readers as well.

I am happy to announce that my Stamp Your Dream Designs business is now expanding into San Joaquin County! Coming this fall, I will have my largest shop space yet! It is in a magnificent new boutique located in Manteca, called Once Upon a Theme! Cathy is the owner and she is a doll. Not only will my creations be featured in her beautiful store along with other local artisans, I will be offering paper craft classes there a well!  I am super excited about this endeavor and will share more as we get closer to the Grand Opening.

If you are on Facebook, please head over to the boutique page and give us a LIKE, so you can be updated on the progress of the shop! Once Upon a Theme FB Page

This means that my creations can be found in 4 counties! My designs are available at Vintage Market in Turlock (Stanislaus), The Chocolate Lady Shop in Angels Camp (Calaveras), Market & Co. in old town Sonora (Tuolumne) and soon Once Upon A Theme in Manteca (San Joaquin).  I have been working hard coming up with new ideas for this shop as well as bringing back some old favorites.  This will be my biggest product line available so far, so I hope if you are in the area, you will stop in and check it out, as well as all of the other very talented artisans that will be joining me!

I also have a fun holiday craft fair coming up in October in which Ruby, Kathy & I will be selling our handmade holiday creations and boy have we come up with some super cute ideas! More info on that in the next few weeks!

And finally, lots of classes scheduled for the Stamp Tramps from now until the end of the year! Ruby & I still have one space left in our September class, a few spaces left in our Mega Merry Christmas class in October, but our all day Holiday Stamp Camp Extravaganza has sold out.  We opened up a few more spots to accommodate some of the ladies that were on the waiting list, but we still had some that we could not fit in due to time and space constraints.  If you could not get into Stamp Camp, make sure to sign up for our Mega Merry Chirstmas class, it is an extra special, jam packed class, too!  We hope to make Stamp Camp a frequent event, so stay tuned for more info on that! You can find more info on Stamp Tramp classes here!

And don't forget about my Friday Night Creation Station classes which usually happen on the 3rd Friday of the month.  These classes offer a little more than my regular classes or club and give me the opportunity to explore more techniques and products to share with you! I have been posting previews of these classes, so go here to check it out.

I just added a September class to the calendar for The Crafty Chicks of Calaveras County,so if you are a reader in this area you can find more info about that here!

Well, I have rambled too much and must get back to work.  I am making Halloween and Fall treats for the new shop and my desk is an absolute mess, but I LOVE MY JOB!! So blessed to be able to do this for a living.

Until next time ~

The Friday Night Creation Station!

Friday night was the first gathering of my new class series: The Friday Night Creation Station! I developed this series to expand on what I already offer to my customers.  We do certain projects for stamp club, certain projects for scrap class and then certain projects for the larger classes that Ruby and I teach together.  For the Friday Night Creation Station I wanted to go further into what I can offer as a SU demo.  More techniques, more product introduction and more fun!

This first class was based on a certain color combination and stamp sets.

The Flower Shop stamp set has been hugely popular, I think just about everyone in Stamp Club has purchased it, along with the coordinating Pansy Punch.  I used in on 3 of the 4 projects for this class and it was received very well!

The color combo used for the class was Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana.  The collection of cards created goes together so well...

The card above features both of our butterfly punches and the Natural Composition Designer Series Paper.  A very simple yet beautiful card.

Can you guess how I made the honeycomb background? We will be exploring this technique again in a future class, so if you missed this class maybe you can catch another one.

The September project preview has been posted for the next Friday Night Creation Station.  It will be an extra special class, so I hope you can join us! For a sneak peek, click here!

Hope you liked my projects....now I have to get back to creating.

Until next time ~

This week I am working on fall projects for my shop spaces and I decided to make a few owl themed items because I think of fall when I think of owls.  These cute little guys are made from clothespins. They are magnetic clips that would be perfect to hold all of those back to school pictures on your fridge!

I used a retired owl stamp and our current Owl Builder Punch to create the owls. I had some scraps of Designer Series paper in a pile on my rolling cart so I decided to use those up on these little babies. The color combo of the first group is Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral.

The color combo on this group is Midnight Muse and Cherry Cobbler.

And finally, this color combo is Cajun Craze and Midnight Muse.

You will find some of these little guys in The Chocolate Lady and Market & Co. in the next week or so and then the rest will be taken to my newest and largest space in Manteca! I will share more of that exciting news in the weeks to come...

Until next time ~

August Stamp Club Projects

Here are the 3 projects that The Stamp Tramps got to make at last weekend's club gathering:

This card features the Marvelous Maple Stamp, Sweater Weather DSP, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dictionary Background Stamp, Jute Ribbon and Candy Dots with Brad Bases. We heat embossed the leaf image with Early Espresso Embossing Powder and colored it in with a Cajun Craze marker.

The project above was so well received at my last class (and on the internet) that I decided to share it with my club girls as well.  I posted all of the details about it HERE, so make sure to check out that blog entry.  The color combo of Basic Black, Gold and Bermuda Bay is just striking!

The final card was inspired by a card I spotted on Stampin' Connection that was created by fellow demo, Carla Clements.  I changed one of the colors, used less flowers and changed the sentiment. The girls loved how easy it was to make! I love the look of Washi Tape, so the Tape It stamp set was a perfect match for me.  In fact, this set is so popular right now, that it is on the back order list! What I love about it as that you can create the look of washi tape in any color you choose and with a choice of multiple patterns.  I just love it!  The color combo for this card is Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White.  I also used my trusty Sharpies to color our large Adhesive Rhinestones to make them match my card!

Hope you like the selection of cards that I have shared today!
Until next time ~

Gorgeous Grunge meets elegance!

Happy Monday to everyone! Today has been my day for working on the computer: entering orders, updating all of my social media sites, perusing ideas for inspiration for upcoming classes and finally, updating this blog! I did get sidetracked by purchasing the coolest little gadget ever from HSN for scrapbooking, but I will share that later! Moving on to today's project share...

I always come back from SU convention very motivated and inspired and one of the projects that really got my attention was shared during one of the main stage presentations and it used the color combo of Black, Gold and Bermuda Bay.  I would have never put these colors together, but when I saw them, I was stunned.  Just gorgeous!! There was also a cool little technique shared in this presentation and that was the fact that we can use embossing powder on our buttons to change their looks! So, using the color combo and technique from that project, I created this card and I just loved how it turned out!

I used our Very Vintage Designer Buttons. Took one, rubbed in on my Versamark pad, dipped in Gold Embossing powder and heated it up.  It was quick, easy and mess-free! Gave a whole new look to the button and became the centerpiece for my card. I can't wait to try this with other colors of embossing powders! I used the Pansy and Blossom Punches to create my flower, but I stamped the splatter pattern from Gorgeous Grunge on the Bermuda flower and then used the brand new Pretty Print Embossing Folder on the Gold Flower. You can find this item in the new Holiday Catalog along with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder which I used on the black background piece.  I stamped this piece with the big swirly image from Everything Eleanor and Gold Encore Ink (also in the Holiday Catalog) before I embossed it and I really like the look!

The sheet music is from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper pack and I used the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to stamp some Bermuda and Gold on it as well.  I think everything came together beautifully and I used this project for last weekends big Let's Stamp Class and it was a hit!

Until next time ~

Build A Banner Simply Created Kit!

It is an exciting day ~ the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog goes live today! For those of you that like to get started on your holiday projects early, you may now start ordering from this awesome selection of goodies!
One of the first items I got was the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit.  OMG, now you know this was right up my alley, I think SU created this just for me, because I love banners so much and I have been making them for years and selling them in shops for years.

Anyway, this kit is awesome! You get 18 CANVAS panels with antique jumbo eyelets already fitted inside them (remember when we carried those very cool eyelets? I miss those so much!). You also get a whole set of alphabet stencils as well as 3 designs for your panels: polka dots, chevron and stripes.  Very trendy right now! This kit is so easy to use....I created this banner is under an hour and of course I used my favorite color, Coastal Cabana.  I just used our cool little sponge daubers to pick up ink and sponge through the stencils.  You even get the twine in the kit, as well as 2 stampin' spritz bottles, in case you want to apply your ink that way.  I decided that summer is not over, so I would make this banner in this fun color combo!

I still have 14 panels left, so I can make even more!
I did use my Pansy Punch and the smallest Circle Scallop Punch along with Antique Brads to create my little flower embellishments, to give it a little extra flair!

Here is each panel, up close!

Here is what comes in the kit:
