Another card from class

Here is another card that I designed for my "From The Heart" class this month.

I had to use the Heart Framelits because it just went so perfectly with the sentiment from the stamp set, Cuddles & Kisses. The footprints are from Baby Prints. I decided to use a neutral color combo of Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, So Saffron and Crushed Curry for the card, so it can be used for either a boy or a girl.  The striped DSP is from Watercolor Wonder.  The embossing folder used is Decorative Dots and I added just a little bling for the embellishments with our Silver Shimmer Paper punched with the Itty Bitty Heart Punch.

I used the same layout to create baby cards for my shops and they are selling very well! I think those cute little baby footprints just win people over.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time ~

Cycle Celebrations

Here is another card from my February class, "From The Heart".
This sweet little card features the Cycle Celebrations stamp set, which is a happy little set that I love so much.  It also features the Build-a-cupcake punch, which I HAVE NEVER USED BEFORE!!
Can you believe that??
I finally broke down and took the wrapper off of it and created this card for class.
I love the cupcake punch because you can do so many things with it that are not cupcake related.
I've seen the frosting used as clouds and the cupcake bottom used as a purse, and I will be trying these techniques soon, now that I have finally broken my punch in....LOL

The color combo for this card is Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.

Thanks for stopping by!

So Very Grateful

Here is another card I designed for my "From The Heart" Paper Craft class this month.
I used a new stamp set from the spring catalog: So Very Grateful.
I love this stamp set because the images in it are perfect for watercoloring.
I stamped the image on our luxurious watercolor paper using Stazon and then colored it in with a blender pen and Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding inks.
I absolutely LOVE the new Hardwood background stamp!
I used it for the background on this card.  Love the look of green wood.
The coral twine is part of a 3 pack of thick, colored twine that is available as a FREE Sale-a-bration gift.  This project was a class favorite and after sharing it on Stampin' Connection yesterday, I learned that it had been pinned to Pinterest 25 times in just a few hours.
That tells me that it is a cool design.
Nothing like a little Pinterest love to make a girl feel good!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time ~

February Class Project!

Here is the first of 6 class projects from my February class, "From The Heart".
I saw a version of this card on Pinterest and just fell in love with it.
Of course, I changed it up a bit and made it my own.
What I love about this card is how simple it is!
It was a favorite among the attendants at my class on Saturday.
I also used the glimmer paper coloring technique, which is just basically using your SU ink to change our Silver Glimmer Paper to any color you want! You can use a sponge dauber and ink pad or refill, but I just had the ladies use our Strawberry Slush Marker to color the little silver heart after they adhered it to the front of the card.  No muss, no fuss!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time ~

Cards For A Cure!

Today I am so excited to share with you my latest project!

One of the most important things that I wanted to do when I "retired" from my  9-5 job was to take the time to volunteer for my community and to give back.  I have been very fortunate to be able to spend one afternoon a month with the ladies of the Foothill Village retirement community here in Angels Camp. We gather to make cards and other crafty projects and it is truly a joy to spend time with them. In addition to volunteering there, I have been searching for a way in which to use my crafty skills and stash of supplies to help others.  After learning that our family friend, Ellen Madison, is seriously ill and in need of a new heart, the idea came to me! What if I designed a Valentine's Day card in honor of her, sold it and donated all of the proceeds of the sales to her Go Fund Me account?
So that is what I did.
Here is the card that I designed for Ellen.
I thought February and the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday would be the perfect time to launch her card, as the heart is the symbol of love.

Here is the inside of the card:

And that is how Cards For A Cure was born!
I will be creating cards to sell to raise funds for various charitable causes and community members and organizations that need help.  This is my small way of giving back. I created a page for this project on Facebook:

I would be a happy girl if my blog readers that are on Facebook would go to this new FB page, like it and share it. I am happy to say that I have already received 11 card orders for Ellen's card since I launched the page last night! My goal is to spread happiness and find a cure, one card at a time!

Here is Ellen with her hubby, Ben. She is the first beneficiary of my Cards For A Cure project and I hope it does make a different in her fundraising efforts for a heart transplant surgery.  If you would like to know more about Ellen or follow her story or even make a donation to her Go Fund Me account, follow this link:

You can also follow Ellen's journey and lend her support by liking her Facebook page here:

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
Until next time ~
